Controller problem: PS2 to USB convertor

Fri Nov 15, 2002 3:41 pm

Hi all,

Does anyone use a PS2 to USB convertor to play NBA Live 2003? Do you have any problem about the controller? I got some problem with it and I am not sure whether it is the contoller problem, the driver problem or the game doesn't 100% compatible with the controller driver...

The problem:
1. If you press many buttons randomly at the same time, it will prompt up the pause menu
2. If you press the right analog button and hold the ball away from the denfender, normally you can hold no matter how long you want. But sometimes I hold a while and then it starts walking
3. Crossover should be done by the right analog button and direction should be controlled through the left one. But if I press the left analog button randomly and quickly, sometimes the player performs crossover

The above problems are not on PS2 while I am using the same PS2 controller. What's your comment? Is it the problem with the PS2 to USB convertor or the driver itself?

Thanks for your opinion!

ok I'm using PS2 adapter and I love it

First and foremost, did you reconfigure your control in the game? Because the default settings are all wacked out.

Yes, I have already reconfigured the control in the game. But it doesn't help.

By the way, CoCoBeE, what PS2 adapter are you using? Do you have the above problem that I mentioned?

Thanks!

this is the one I got, and I have never had that problem

What OS are you using? I'm using XP home and I got drivers from that site for XP too.

I am using Windows XP Professional Editon and my PS2 to USB adapter has bought long time ago (about 1-2 yrs ago). So if you don't have this problem, I should buy this one...

Since mine should be too old and no driver update...

i can send you my drivers , if you want to give that a try?

Thank you very much!

just sent them, good luck bro!

The problem is you controller!

I have the same problem with my controller on my PS2. There is probably a short in the cable(due to my 2 year old pulling and kicking the controller around) causing the system to no recognize they controller at times and taking you to the controller pick screen. Either deal will it like I do until the controller completely dies, or buy a new one.

The problem with the crossover is not a problem, I don't think. It you quickly move the left analog stick from left to right or visa versa, the player will continuely switch dribbling hand, looking like a really quick crossover.

I don't know anything about your second problem, I will try to reproduce it on my PS2 with my bad controller.

I have tried the new driver but it still doesn't work. Anyway, I have bought a new PS2 to USB convertor and it is working perfectly now!

Eddienghs,
Good to hear bro!
Where did you get it at?

Hi CoCobeE,

I bought it in one of the computer shops in Hong Kong. I am living in Hong Kong.

Thanks!

CoCoBeE,

We have the same ps2-usb adapter. I was just wondering if you could get the vibration function working on Live 2003? My controller works fine except that it has no vibration function in Live 2003. Same thing with Madden 2003 (no vibration). But if I play FIFA 2003, the vibration function is working. What seems to be the problem? :?:  :?:

Thanks.

No I didn't because I have the 2 player adapter, and last time I ordered from that company, they fucked up my order. And, it's not a rip off because I absouletly love it! I don't mind paying for quality.

I'm using a PS to USB adapter too. do any of you guys use WIN98? sometimes my analog sticks work and sometimes not, do any of you have the same problems? I have to reboot a lot of times till the controller works in the game..

My controller vibrates everytime i press start. I'm using the PSONE dualshock. It works just a well as the ps2 dualshock - both don't vibrate 'cept for the aforementioned button.

I use a PSX2USB converter (detected as "Monster Gamepad" in the control panel) and runs perfectly with every game, including Live2003, as well as with every emulator. I run Win98SE.

I configured a new control profile in Live2003, I didn't use the default ones.
