Re: The 2025 off-season and draft

One wonders if the Pelicans are also starting to consider cutting their losses. Hard to give up on talent like that, but if he's not committed - to basketball in general, or being in New Orleans - and thinking about moving on, then they have to at least consider their options.

I was people on saying its his contract year, not sure if it is but like that say.. contract year equals allstar level play lol

He's signed through 2028 according to HoopsHype, so he's still got some guaranteed money coming his way. Of course, that's not too far away (scarily), so it would behove him to get in shape and dedicate himself to his career if he intends to play and get paid beyond that.

Then again, we could be looking at it too cynically. Getting in shape and staying healthy is obviously ideal for his career no matter where he plays, so it could just be that he's finally taken the right advice and put in the work because he wants to compete and be the best player he can be. In the short term at least, good news for him and the Pelicans.

True, maybe he just finaly switched on and realised the player he could be if he put the work in!

Either way good on him and iam happy for him and the fans of the Pelicans, well all of us really as I know iam excited to see him play more so than his rookie year

For sure, we want a galaxy of stars making it a competitive and exciting league. There are some other factors impacting that these days of course - at least for my taste - but still good news.

I totally agree mate we are from the era we grew up in a time that players didnt need to be told to play hard or to play when there 90% healthy in the regular season and 50% healthy in the playoffs they did it running on pride alone but I agree the league played or ran like it was in its heyday which iam reminded of each and every time I put on a pontel from the 90/00s
