YOu know how you do the Statue Of Liberty? Well Don't hold down L1 hold down R1 and do press triangle, and spin the control stick in a 360 then hit Circle but as soon as your guy gets the slow first turn down, Let go and WHAM!

Here's my favorite dunk combo of the moment. I invented it in my neverending quest for dunks that the developers didn't intend.

Pick someone around 6'7" or taller. Stand between the top of the key and the free throw line and do the off-the-ground toss (tap down on the Analog stick).

Follow it IMMEDIATELY and go right into the 180 (or 360) between the legs gather (R1+L1, /\, X). Time it right and the ball will bounce off the rim and into your arms for the between the legs dunk. Looks unbelievable.

I also managed to pull off a lob into the between-the-legs from out of bounds. I did it twice but now can't figure out how to do it anymore. I did a high-toss off the side-edge of the backboard into an elbow-hang, and a lob off the side of the shotclock.

If anyone else figures out any error-type dunks please post.

And Old School Fool, if you could post a deeper explanation of how you managed to do a front flip into a double between-the-legs that would be cool. I didn't understand your first explanation.

Well...I throw it from the Corner of the Three Point Line. You know...In Between the Side and the Front, Like the 2nd and 2nd to LAST Rack in the Three Point Contest. I throw it off the bounce, run about a few steps, Flip, and press Circle and Circle again, and boom, but your guy has to have it above his head so he can catch it overhead, kinda hard to explain. You can do any Regular dunk off of a lob. I threw the ball in the air once, and caught it, and ended up throwing down the JUMPMAN LOGO DUNK and got a 50. I was like

It depends on how you assign the buttons in the basic controller config, but the four buttons used for gather/finish are:
pass button, pro-hop (jump on defense) button, shot button and layup/dunk button
the modifiers are:
off-ball button and turbo
and d-pad is d-pad :)

If someone could post the basic button assignment on PS2/Xbox, you'd have the all of the combos "translated" to any pc controller.

train yourself ...

some 360 are tricky to do but some are easy.

don't try them too far from the rim.

I practiced. I know how to throw the ball, but can never catch it for a complete dunk. Any tips?

I did a slam dunk contest with Lebron James vs. Kobe Bryant vs. Vince Carter vs. Brent Barry and lost badly. They keep getting 50s with these awesome dunks. Bouncing the ball off the screen on the side then dunking it and crap like that..

And I can never dunk from behind the rim but the comp can. It always says incomplete or whatever for me.

you need timing on those... i usually have probs on that last week.. but i can now compete with cpu on the dunk contest....

you may want to try alleyoops from the top of the key... since they are the easiest because you dont need to adjust the location of your player... you just need to work on the timing of the jump and the release. :D

then you can start tossing from the left or right portion of the 3 pt line... toss meaning the ball doesnt need to bounce off the floor or the glass... this, you can do a lot more 50 dunks...

How do you bounce it off the screens?

And how do you go between the legs and do 360s and stuff like that?

off the screens? you can experiment on it.. im not too sure.. im not doing it though. its not that realistic.

try this... left directional pad + R1 + flick right on right analog stick... im not too sure on this.

between the legs is circle on ps2... or what ever counter part it is in pc gamepad...

360s... /\ + 360 rotation on the left analog stick + finisher...

you may want to review some cool moves posted here

I was able to do a toss to the left jumbotron, front flip, Dee Brown dunk but can't seem to do it again. :(

Also, I was surprised that you can do a behind the back (Kobe dunk) from the free throw line dunk. Gets you 50 every time. :)

Yeah but doing it closer to the basket sometimes gets you lower scores from the judges. The farther the takeoff, the higher the score. ;)

Are you referring to the wrap around dunk from the free throw line? In PS2 it's L1+square (gather), circle(dunk).

You have to move near the halfcourt line and run till you're almost at the 3-point line before you start your gather.

Found this on the net...

Win the slam dunk contest.

Easy shots:
Before attempting a shot when you are closely guarded, try stepping back to clear
space and increase your chances of making the basket. To step back, tap Right
Analog-stick Down when you are standing and dribbling the ball. At any point
during this move, you can press Shoot to launch your shot. This is also a great
move if your player is standing just inside the arc and want to try a 3-pointer
instead of a long-range 2.

Between the legs twice dunk:
Start from the three point line, then press Circle as your gather. While gathering,
hold L1 + R1 + Circle. Hold the buttons until you see the person holding it with
both hand, then release. You should get a 50 in the dunk contest

Flip Gather:
Toss an Alley Oop and hold L1 + R1 + Circle. This will result in the Flip Gather that
appears on the video.

Rainbow Gather:
To do the gather that Darius Miles does in the Advanced video, hold L1 + R1, then
rotate the Right Analog-stick clockwise, starting at the bottom.

Soccer Gather:
Hold D-pad Left and press Right Analog-stick Left and rotate it clockwise 360
degrees.

Dunk and hang on rim by armpit:
Hold L1 and press Square for the gather and Circle for the dunk. For the best
result, hold Circle until the ball is at its highest peak.

Throw ball off screen:
Hold D-pad Left or Right (depending on which side you want to dunk from), then
tap Right Analog-stick Up.

Throw ball off the camera:
Hold D-pad Up and tap Right Analog-stick Up.

Throw ball off shot clock:
Hold L1 + R1 and press the Right Analog-stick in any direction.

Throw ball off your head:
When in the dunk contest or practice dunking mode, you can throw the ball off of
your head. Press Right Analog-stick Left then move it 180 degrees clockwise to the
Right, making a semicircle.

Clyde Drexler's Under The Rim Windmill:
From the 3 point corner, hold L1 + R1 and move toward basket with Triangle.
Then, tap Triangle again.

Dee Brown's Cover Eyes dunk:
Hold L1 + R1 and move toward the basket with Circle. Then, tap Square.

Michael Jordan's Rock The Baby dunk:
When running up to the net, hold R1 then press Square as your gather, and then
press Square again.

Vince Carter's Arm In Rim dunk:
Note: Depending on how well it is timed and how long you hold it, you can get your
armpit in the rim; also do this with a lob for an automatic 50. Hold L1 and move
toward the basket with Square. Then, tap Triangle.

Rock The Cradle dunk:
Hold R1 and move toward the basket with Square. Then, tap Triangle.

Air Jordan dunk:
Press Square to lift off, then hold Circle.

T-Mac's All-Star Game Backboard Toss:
Press R3 to throw the ball off the backboard in an All-Star game then tap Square.

Vince Carter's Arm In Rim dunk:
Note: Depending on how well it is timed and how long you hold it, you can get your
armpit in the rim; also do this with a lob for an automatic 50. Hold L1 and move
toward the basket with Square. Then, tap Triangle.

360 Pump dunk or 180 Pump dunk:
Hold R1 and move toward the basket with Triangle. Rotate the Left Analog-stick
360 or 180 degrees, then tap Triangle again.

720 dunk:
Hold R1 and press Triangle for your gather. Then, rotate the Left Analog-stick two
times very fast and press Circle as your trick. You need to hold it for awhile to
finish the trick.

Dunk and hang on rim by armpit:
Hold L1 and press Square for the gather and Triangle for the dunk. For best
results, hold Triangle until the ball is almost at its highest peak.

One Hand Windmill:
Hold R1 and move toward the basket with Circle. Then, tap Triangle.

Two Hand Windmill:
Hold L1 and move toward the basket with Circle. Then, tap Triangle.

Two Hand Reverse Windmill:
Hold L1 and move toward the basket with X. Then, tap Triangle.

One Hand Tomahawk:
Hold L1 and move toward the basket with Circle. Then, tap X.

Under The Legs Two Hand Reverse:
Move toward the basket with Triangle. Then, tap X.

Behind the back dunk (not reverse):
Hold L1 + R1 and move toward basket with Square. Then, tap Circle.

Between legs twice dunk (automatic 50):
Hold L1 + R1 and move toward basket with Circle. Then, tap Circle again.

360 between legs dunk or 180 between legs dunk (automatic 50):
Move towards the basket, tap X, rotate the Left Analog-stick 360 or 180 degrees,
then tap X again.

Statue Of Liberty:
Move towards the basket, tap X once, rotate the Left Analog-stick 360 degrees,
then tap Circle

Behind the backboard alley oop one hander:
Start from behind the backboard, by the three point line. Hold R1, hit the right
anolog stick up. Before it hits the ground hit Square as your take off then hit circle.
If you did it right you should get a 50 everytime.

Throw ball off your head:
When in the dunk contest or practice dunking mode, you can throw the ball off of
your head. Press Right Analog-stick Left then move it 180 degrees clockwise to the
Right, making a semicircle.

Alley-oop to self:
Press R3 then Square to dunk the ball. Note: This can only be used on 5 on 5 or 1
on 1.

Kick Alley-oop:
Hold L1 and move the Right Analog-stick 270 degrees counter-clockwise staring
from Down. Your player will toss the ball over his shoulder, then kick it with his
right foot.

Backflip Under The Legs dunk:
Toss the ball while pressing L1 + R1, then press Circle to do a backflip, gather,
and tap X.

360 Between The Legs Off The Backboard dunk (automatic 50):
Press Right Analog-stick Up to throw the ball off the backboard. Next, for your
gather press L1 + R1 + X while rotating the Left Analog-stick 360 degrees. Then,
go to the hoop, hold L1 + R1 and tap X.

Winning championships easily:
To win championships without playing, just save and simulate. If you lose, quit
without saving and simulate again until you win.

Easy dynasty points:
Play a game under the rookie difficulty in dynasty mode and get 20 shots in a row.
Just do dunks and play against a team with no shot blockers. You will get over
2000 dynasty points.

Hope this helps all you dunkers :D
