I am answering to people whose asked me eg: Kendrick Perkins or other unnecessary players.
I don' t specially like making them cause I don' t care about em, I am not using them /playing with them and it consume much time to find something cool for them too for now, because

well i didnt have it, but i did download it from this site with explorer. but they dont show. and i know how to use them because i moded the sh*t out of nba 2k17. but i guess i need a original version for mods to work :/

First, working for 2k has nothing to do with it. Nice dig but it made no sense. Supporting a purchase of the game does not equate to working for 2k.

Second, its not getting "self-righteous" it is literally the rules of the forum. That's like saying calling someone out for using a racial slur is getting "self-righteous". The rules are explicit about cracked copies. If you don't like it you are free to go elsewhere.

Additionally, I'm unsure of the licensing agreements on google images. But are you really comparing taking an image off of google images to theft of a $60 game. You can't be serious? Regardless, I do know you have an entire thread you just started about portrait creation so try to avoid throwing stones from your glass house.

As for the requests,they go unnoticed because literally every creator gets flooded with them. It takes two seconds to request the creation of five players. It takes two weeks to find the right reference photos and create the faces. They are doing this for free and have lives outside of modding.

Finally, I don't explicitly know 2k's stance on modding but I do know they have been aware of the modding scene for years and have chosen to let it flourish into what it has. Programming the game to be non-moddable wouldn't be that hard if they legitimately hated the modding community. But they don't and in fact have hired individuals out of the modding community.

This is remarkably inaccurate.

Using getty images, or any other images, is not illegal unless you are making a PROFIT off of them. I could use 100% getty images for a roster, and they could do nothing to me as long as I'm not using them for profit.

Same with modding, we could change every thing about the game, break into the files and manipulate them any way we want, and as long as we don't make profit off of them, it's not illegal. Modding has never been illegal. It's those that sell it that are technically doing an illegal act.

In regards to using pirated games, 2K is a for profit company. NBA 2K is 2K sports and Visual Concepts intellectual property. Steam has the legal rights to sell said games, not third parties allowing them to be downloaded for free illegally, or at a huge discount illegally. Pirating games is illegal for that reason, and if everybody pirated, we wouldn't even get a PC version of the game.

In regards to you saying it was a waste of money, that's completely on you for purchasing the products, you are an adult, make smarter decisions than. However, you saying it was a waste of money is probably extremely inaccurate, as you must have had hundreds or even thousands of hours of entertainment from said games, which covered your investments, and kept you purchasing every single year.

He has a right to be pissed about people pirating the game, or using excuses to why they have to pirate a game. It bothers me as well. But acting like pirating a game is the equivalent to ripping images off of Google (and not making any money off of it), or modding (which is completely legal) is honestly, completely wrong and frankly ridiculous. EA Sports cited pirating games as part of the reason they stopped producing Live for the PC, so it's absolutely a legitimate concern when so many people vocalize that they are not purchasing, instead obtaining copies illegally online.
