MJ has always been a good 3-point shooter. this one guy after the game of the lakers game yesterday on he southern cal fox report had a post game interview with kobe and kobe siad that this guy from the la times said he can't shoot three's.

By the way, kobe could've make more than 9 in a row, but notice he missed his 3-pointer that ended the streak in front of the Sonics bench.

Does anyone else think it's a bad sign when Kobe is shooting 18 three pointers in a game? Sure he made 12 but that isn't going to happen every day. Furthermore, by just sitting behind then three point line he's not using his real strength(His ability to get to the basket) and is doing what a lot of Nba players could do if they had the freedom.

okie dokie- soap, anybody? getting kind of dirty here...

i was thinking the same thing, thebob. but, hey, why not ride out the hotstreak for one night. but it would be disappointing to see bryant to continually hang around the 3point arc. i would call it 'scottie pippen' disease. early in his career he would constantly attack basket. he was even invited to the slam dunk competetion one year. but he fell in love with the 3pt shot, and as his career went on, only on occasion would pippen drive to the hole consistently.

remember robert horry his first few years with the rockets? he was a dunking machine! it was amazing- more then half of his points would come from dunks. but after hitting those clutch 3's in the finals, the match was made with him and 3pt shooting.

jordan had that one year when he was doing pretty well shooting 3's. he joined the 3pt contest that year and boy was that a mistake. i think he successfully scored the lowest point total in 3pt contest history. in a way, it taught him a lesson.

I knew that smart ass comment was comming, Carter has never taken 18 three's in a game though. However, that was more or less my point.

Carter hasn't played enough to be called a three point shooter...

kobe was hangin around the 3-point line because he was feeling. if you are hot outside, of course u should continue outside. when he miseed, he did still ran in try for the offensive rebound and stuff. who ouldn't continue their streak from outside if they have a hot streak going? i would continue

Exactly. If you hit a couple of threes you aren't going to stop shooting them and say that'll do, you are going to keep putting it up if you have the confidence. He made a few in a row, why not keep putting it up. It's not like Kobe is jacking up this many threes every game, he just knew he was on fire and went with it.

If a guy has hit 9 threes in a row he can shoot as many as he damn well pleases...and he better keep shooting til he goes cold...

Do note that, Jordan's best shooting years (94-97) were with the shorter three point line. Too important of a point for Dan to have left out.
