Guys sorry but whatever I do in the Nvidia Control Panel doesn't have an effect on the game.
Only Full Screen Windowed makes things smooth.
I've got a GTX 1080.

graphic card? just curious...since I have to buy one and i don't want to spend sooo much

check this one out, it's affordable and i can run 2k on max settings except aa is set to 4, i have the 2gb card but you might want the 4gb if you can spare the extra cash

That's a good option for a lot of people jwin, and... AA at 4 still looks really good.

Good looking out, a lot of people don't realize that you can get good performance out of this game and not go broke on the PC.

no problem, actually here is a whole computer build people could use to upgrade for less than $360 that will run mostly anything on high settings

Good to know.

I'm going back to PC gaming after 8 years, so i really lost track of all the tweaks, graphic cards, settings etc.

I see there is people building gaming systems with multiple gtx 1080...I don't get what they are doing with it, maybe playing on a television from the future

I think people sometimes tend to go overboard to ensure they have no issues, as opposed to getting something cheaper that has any question marks. Which, in a sense I understand.

Personally, with the proper searching, you can indeed get a CPU that runs 2K18 and other games like the Witcher 3 on high or Ultra for around $400. Many people think they have to spend $1000 or more to get into PC gaming, that's not the case.

Graphic drivers settings are a big issue on PC.
You often have to tweak you drivers to have the best performances, even with SLI (compatibility bits fix).

Built my PC over a few years. Definitely runs 2k18 1000x better and faster than PS4.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB
i7 7700k 4.2GHz processor 4 cores
16GB RAM DDR4

My build runs the game all maxed out and if I stop caring about tearing from my garbage monitor will run consistently at 240fps. I also Rivatune at 60fps sometimes

If anyone has a recommendation for a high quality monitor let me know because my only fault right now is input lag with Vertical Sync on.

Damn, that is not the case for me. Just updated my driver via the NVidia Gefore Experience but the software doesn't seem to add 2K18 to the optimizable games page when I scan for my games. Am I doing anything wrong?

If you made a custom NBA 2K18 profile in the Control Panel delete it and now the NVIDIA profile appears. So I was wrong there is a profile and the game works smoothly with the following settings

Full Screen Windowed
Vsync on
AA

I have a GTX 1080.

On the NVIDIA Control Panel I just set Power Management to Prefer Maximum Performance.

In the AMD Settings, set VSYNC to "Always On", with the rest of your profile set to "Balanced". Also, make sure VSYNC is on in game (This makes a difference even if VSYNC is always on in the AMD settings). Also, you can try the FPS control option on the games profile, if you are shooting for just 60 FPS (Which is what I play on), set it to 60.

Still not showing up for me though.

Edit: Nevermind, I think I get what you guys mean. Instead of manually selecting the NBA 2k18 .exe inside the NVidia Control Panel, I know have it listed as default. Is that a good thing? Should the optimization be better if that is the case?

Now optimization seems a litle better but full screen windowed is still the only way.

I had 60 fps constantly until patch 4. Patch 5 kicks me out of the game as soon as Shaq and Kenny stop talking. Deleting modded folder does not work. Updated gfx drivers. All the other games work fine.

The performance is worse for me too after the patch. Both visually and in numbers.

And magically the performance is back at what it was before patch 4. Weird. I hate my PC. Time to start buying a new one.

I upgraded from a 980 to a 1080 Ti and the Performance is still shit. Its like the Game can't go over 100FPS. I dont know what the fuck they did between 2K16 and 2K17 but it broke the Performance. 2K16 ran at rocksolid 144FPS on my 980 and the last 2 Years I fucking can't get more than 70FPS with slowdowns into the 50s. This is fucking unacceptable especially since the Game does not look any better than 2K16! I feel like this must be some stupid oversight like running Supersampling on the Crowd or something, since my fucking 1080 Ti is a 99% Load and only gets like 90-120FPS at best and thats only on 1080p! I can run other new Games at 4K and get 100FPS...
