Anybody of note on the current roster who was omitted? Any word on what DLC will become available?

I guess the Hardys are the most noteworthy omissions.

It'd be great if they could be pushed through as DLC, but that may be unlikely.

Has that been the case in previous years? My initial thought was that they would obviously be DLC, but I have literally nothing to base that on.

They have added new wrestlers through DLC in the past, so it's possible. I'm not sure how far in advance the DLC superstars are planned, though. With the Hardys coming on board at Wrestlemania, it's possible they missed the cut for that as well, though hopefully not. I'd gladly pay for a Season Pass if they're included.

The 4 horsewomen were shockingly not in 2K16 even after Sasha stating she had been scanned for the game. They were also not added as dlc so it could've been a contract issue with them all moving up from nxt

Yeah, it's pretty much at WWE's discretion. I remember many years ago, Big Show got pulled from No Mercy because it was around the same time he'd been sent down to OVW to get in better shape.

In 2K17, is the entire 'Downloaded Wrestler' section in select a player DLC? I don't remember, but if so, I feel like that's a ton of characters.

Yep, that's where they're selectable.

If it ends up being that large a pool again, I've gotta imagine they'll find their way in. Especially if the plan is to give them singles runs. Then again, the current WWE World Champion isn't in 2K17 so what do I know.

In all fairness, he only returned in July of last year and was basically a jobber until this mega push. Mind you, that is an indictment of WWE's hotshot booking right now.

And Daniel Bryan was champion and was not in the game as well. I think he was added as dlc though

When was that? I can't remember him being left off the roster in the past couple of years.

Ah, so that would've been 2010 and Smackdown vs. RAW 2011. He was briefly fired in 2010 over the choking incident while a member of the Nexus, then was brought back for Summerslam. That'd be the reason for his absence.

I don't know if anyone else has tried it, but there's a spreadsheet over at Operation Sports that has every player in the game (2K17), and tons you can download both current and retro, re-rated, that really, drastically change the game for the better. Matches play out much more realistic, and make more sense. Gone are the quick 3 minute squashes, unless it's a superstar vs a scrub as God intended. It takes some time, and ratings are generally really low, but I've done 5 - 10 characters a day for the last few weeks, and it's really made the game substantially more fun. I'm hoping they do this again for 2K18, because it turned this back into a game I can't put down and am having a ton of fun with again.

Apparently there's a new commercial for the game featuring the Hardys. A promising sign.

Also, they're releasing the PC version the same date as with the consoles. That's WONDERFUL!

Pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition as this is the only game I've really played in the last calendar year, so I figure it's worth ponying up the money.
