So it works? Does this mean we can mod CF in 2k18?

I'm pretty sure you can mod in CFs in 2K18 even without that video.

Also it is possible to convert 2K17 cyberfaces to NBA 2K18. Its going to take a lot of work but I basicly threw a video together about the proof of concept. I began converting my 2K17 Wilt.

i was fiddling with john stockton appearance_info.rdat (tutorial here)from his 2k18 png.0163. I was able to give him long antenna arms :) That made me very happy, and being the super mature adult that i am, of course i want him to have a super long neck(was going for space jam style). anyways, i noticed that if i gave him a neck value out of range, that it would make him invisible.

thought triggered that nba 2k17 iff files gave invisible players when placed into 2k18.

so, i grabbed peaceman's 2k17 reggie miller (found here).

i had 3 nba 2k18 png files: ray allen (png013.iff) ; karl malone (png0159.iff) ; john stockton (png0163.iff)

I removed appearance_info.dat from a 2k18 png.iff file, and overwrote the 2k17 reggie png file.

no other changes were made from the 2k17 reggie png file.
john stockton https://imgur.com/a/RUgdR

karl malone https://imgur.com/a/mtwnK

ray allen https://imgur.com/a/NaleV

it wasnt letting me embed them, anyways, havent fiddled with anything else cause i gotta run. maybe we can pursue this avenue, perhaps.

*edit: with michaelvlutz49 realistic jersey physics the jerseys appear on body http://www.moddingway.com/file/225722.html . without his mod the jersey dosen't appear at all.

It appears everyone has an average bodytype so far. You can tell the bodytype by simply opening appearance_info.dat and look for bodytype. It will be near the beginning of the file.

Hey guys, i'm trying to create fictional cyberfaces for draftees, but i've been spending two hours trying to figure this out :

Image

As you can see, whenever the player has an expression on his face, i got weird color on the hair of the player, it's darker. I think it comes from the face_wrinklecolor_o.dds but i can't figure it out. Does somebody know what to do to remove this ?

Guys, your tutorials are very handy :bowdown:

Does the base player have 3d hair?

No he doesn't it's John Henson. I'm pretty sure it's me not saving face_wrinklecolor_o.dds correctly in the facexxxx.iff. Does anyone know which format to save it ?

Here we go !
In my example I use Green and Wall. So you find their own png.iff, png2478.iff for green and png1801.iff for wall.
Open the files with 7zip. You've got different .SCNE files for appearance, hair and facial hair. Open facialHair_01.SCNE from Green. You have this :
"facialHair_01": {
"EndTime": 2.0,
"Material": {
"facialHair_shader":
},
"Model": {
"hihead": {
................blablabla..........................
"Binary": "hihead.0116d4e0caa1c3d4.model"
What you need to know is that file attached to "hihead".
So now you search for hihead.0116d4e0caa1c3d4.model in the Green png.iff. You keep it on one side...

You do exactly the same thing with Wall png.iff So you have in that case hihead.c943484d453bc20d.model.

The MAIN thing now is to COPY the hihead.blablabla.model from Wall png.iff into the Green png.iff using 7zip. And RENAME in the Green png.iff the new hihead.blablabla.model by the old one. If you do this you have to erase the old one. In my example, I copy "hihead.c943484d453bc20d.model" in Green png.iff and rename it with "hihead.0116d4e0caa1c3d4.model".

That's pretty much it. After this operation you have to open in Blender to fit your player. The probleme that I have now (but not the first time !) is that Blender crashes with this new file although the result is ok in the game.

This has already been answered above, the steps to add hair to any player are outlined in prior posts. In the post above you, you can see that hair was added to Tracy Mcrgrady. T-Mac does not have hair originally.
Please be sure to read through the thread and try to get an understanding as well as try it out prior to asking. This will better help you figure out how to learn to mod.

I don't have problems to open it on blender. Use the the nba 2k17 plug in and open facialHair_01_SCNE.
Talking about hair color you can do the same procedure as hair model looking in hair_color_o.TXTR and copying and renaming the file ;-)

the thing is i cant export the hair or facial hair from blender, it creates the "model" file tho but it makes it invisible in-game

I will leave the cyberface creations to others this year. It seems you guys have a great understanding.

If video tutorials are needed I will create the during the weekends.

If any one is good with cheat engine or can put me in touch with someone who is good with cheat engine please let me know. I am trying to create a cheate table that will allow us to see a players full attributes, tendencies, and badges. Limnono's trainer does not allow us to copy these values from player to another.

This is needed for retro nba mods and college/ retro college mods

Sorry for the amateur stuff, but I'm trying to import a jersey texture back into my game by compressing all the files into an .iff - without success.
Can anyone help me with the compression settings or tell me another way to get my jersey texture back into the game?

Ok for those who think 2k18 arena are too dark I can say for 99% we can mod light and we can export 2k17 light to 2k18....here I exported 2k17 "Crowd" lighting onto 2k18............
