Talk about NBA 2K17 here.

Hey everyone,
I started a MyLeague franchise using the Start Today option. For some reason, the player contracts did not advance from one season to the next (in other words, Chris Paul, etc. weren't free agents). Any one else have this issue or know how to resolve it?
Thanks!

In the case of Chris Paul, in real life he has a player option this offseason. While he's expected to exercise it, if he doesn't, he won't actually be a free agent until 2018. That's possibly why he's not a free agent in the first offseason of MyLEAGUE.

No - literally every player's contract stays exactly the same. It is really strange.

For instance, if a player has two years left on his contract during the 2016-2017 season, he still has 2 years left during the 2017-2018 season.

In that case, definitely sounds like a bug.

It is a bug confirmed by devs, they are working on it..

I'd be surprised if another official patch comes through for NBA 2K17, so that means a fix will hopefully be coming in NBA 2K18. Not much we can do in the meantime, unfortunately.

It's apparently fixed

Apparently not, if it's still happening.

It's not happening for me anymore, Andrew. The problem started right before the finals. Guess it's gone now

Must've been repairable via a hotfix then, without another full patch. Good to know.
