You know, the muscle definition actually looks really, really good. this will surely enhance how the bodys look on court during play. Body textures desperately need some kind of work and this is definitely one of those steps for sure. Shame that these development cycles are absurdly short. I don't even think it's details getting over looked. It's just not having time. Stuff like this helps realize the games potential. Definitely looking forward to release. Nice stuff MRK.

yeah, this project is one thing i quickly noticed since 2k17 actually lacked body types, the body types were good though. i thought enhancing the muscle definition will make up for it.

im still waiting for lagoa's response and i still have to tweak the lightings, to be honest i don't know how these types of texture work so im still experimenting on that. if someone could help me then i'd be willing to collaborate. if all is done, i will release this in no time. also, i will provide seperate files for the muscle texture so that you could incorporate those in your personal globals or your favorite one.

This looks really really good! That muscle definition is a game changer... literally. Ive combined different aspects of different globals for my personal use. Yours seems to have it all..... Can't wait for release

Going back and playing NBA 2K10 recently, I am just stunned at how bad the body types are for 2K17. I don't understand what they were going for.. professional athletes with no definition/muscle? I feel like the only player almost in the whole NBA that should have that skinny body type is Kelly Oubre, but even he should be given a little muscle. Look at my gameplay video below, specifically at 0:16 in, Wade moving down the court, you can see the definition in his arms, he looks like an athlete.

2K went backwards in graphics after 2K10 (For last gen), and they have gone backwards in body types for 2K (Next gen) since 2K15.

Yeah, I absolutely agree 2k17 went backwards in terms of body types, I remember the hype back when they're announcing that there would be body scans, turns out it would just disappoint me, looking at the body models, i hope that if ever the devs would be able to add more body types, they should also define the muscles on the model itself, not just by controlling it using normal maps. i really do hope 2k18 would be much better than 2k17 overall.

It's best not to question 2k's graphical advancements and lack thereof. They have made strange choices in the past and will continue to do so. You can't expect them to build upon a certain aspect and improve it, instead they scrap it and do it differently.

Body types have been a joke after they were already solid and nobody every seriously complained.
Lighting in 2k9, 2k10 was a really cool looking. I find that 2k14 (last gen) looked like shit in comparison for some reason.

2k14 on the new consoles looked brilliant and is still to date the best looking basketball game I've seen. They have taken steps back since then again.

It really is baffling but nothing you can do about it. I just wish they would consistently bring out a better looking game year after year. But man they have some weird swings in quality.

I'll be releasing a beta version which includes the enhanced muscle definition. I still have yet to make the sweat texture and tweak the arm lighting since I haven't gotten any response from lagoa and sj. hope you enjoy this beta and as always, critiques/suggestions are always welcomed.

I really like your idea of this muscle mod, the only thing that I find unrealistic is all the players look like they are flexing 100% of the time and it makes the players look fake. Would it be possible your you to make the muscle mod more similar to michaelvlutz49 muscle mod. With his its more natural looking the muscles contract when the players move there arms in different directions. The only problem with michaelvlutz49 muscle mod is the muscle animations only work on the left arm so if you could fix that problem I think you could have something really special. Thx
