2017 Playoffs: (1) Warriors vs. (8) Trail Blazers

Postby Lamrock on Mon Apr 10, 2017 9:42 am

The Denver Nuggets have been eliminated.

Portland makes its fourth consecutive playoff appearance after the Nuggets' general manager decided he didn't want his team to make the playoffs. In a rematch of last year's second round series where Portland was competitive but ultimately lost in five, the Warriors are even greater favorites this time. Whether Jusuf Nurkic will be able to play is a mystery, and without him it's hard to see the Blazers winning a game this series. I'm going to predict that he will, and that the Warriors win in five.

I'd love to see an upset, but I don't see the Blazers doing to the Warriors what the Warriors did to the Mavericks a decade ago. I'll say a sweep.

Playoff Lillard has to counter the toaster luck for at least one game, right?
Opinions are my own.

If Nurkic is 100%, I think this series will be closer than most people think. With him, it could get pushed out to 6 or 7 games. He could miss the first few games in Oakland where the Blazers aren't expected to win anyways.

Last season this series went to only 5 games but Portland was very close to winning 2 of the games they lost. So it won't be easy for Warriors against a fully healthy Blazers team. But I doubt Nurkic will be ready to go.

Good for Lillard, that's the right attitude. I am sure his comments will give his teammates confidence as well.

I like the way Lillard carries himself.

Well, Nick Young... and the Warriors.

Everybody has accepted Swaggy P for what he is... for some reason.

I think the Blazers can get at least 1 game at home against the Warriors. 4-1 GSW

Another prediction correct. The Warriors will probably steamroll their way to the finals, might struggle a bit in the WCF.

Team stacked with four All-Stars sweeps overmatched eighth seed, with only one of the four games being close. Kinda why I actually find the Warriors boring, even though their offense is obviously something to admire.

Lillard has the heart of a champ. This man is a legit superstar and a leader. Blazers better build a contender with Lillard/CJ and Nurk soon.

Lillard may be the most overlooked player in the NBA.

I agree, and I love this Blazers team.

I watched all of the exit interviews, Lillards and CJ's were great. Listen to the way CJ talks about the team and himself as a player. I'll be cheering for the Blazers to do well next year.

Quite often. In any case, I just don't find the Warriors fun or interesting to watch. I know that places me in a very small minority, but that's the way it is for me.

how dare you! I'm sleeping by the 2nd half for the west coast games

I think Lillard is not overlooked. He plays in an era where there are a bunch of great pg's
Westbrook, curry, IT, Wall, and maybe CP3 tops him this year

There's no shame if he doesnt make an all NBA team this year.

I am in agreement for the most part.

I've actually enjoyed watching the Jazz, Grizzlies and Blazers much more. However, that could just be because it feels like the same ol Warriors of the last 3 years, its what we are used to now.
