In a move to add salary-cap space, the Houston Rockets traded forward K.J. McDaniels to the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday afternoon just before the 3 p.m. ET trade deadline, according to a source.

The Rockets also traded Tyler Ennis to the Lakers in exchange for fellow guard Marcelo Huertas, a source said. Houston is expected to waive Huertas.

The trades will give the Rockets $3.5 million in cap space, which a source said they will use in an attempt to sign players who have been bought out.

Yeah, but only because the referees let Cap Space get away with everything. There isn't a more coddled player in the league right now.

Looking forward to seeing the Rockets get some of that Cap Space favoritism in their upcoming games. (Y)

The problem with Cap Space is cap space. How do you keep him beyond this season, especially if you can't pair him up with his old teammate, Bird Rights?

That's why you trade him before he leaves your team in off-season free agency

Or, you can use the cap space freed up by Cap Space's departure to sign another player. But if Cap Space stays, you can sign his old buddy Mid-Level Exception.

What do you think about Luxury Tax? Some say that he can deliver a championship under the right circumstances, but we've seen that plan fail more than once.

But I think cash considerations is a cure all. Especially if your team is struggling, he is the Man!

Lopsided Trade has certainly made an impact, too.

First Round Pick appears to be a hot commodity these days, especially if your team is tanking.

The problem is that teams often settle for Disappointing Bust, the poor man's First-Round Pick.

Yeah, even if you get on Draft Lottery's good side, you can still end up with Disappointing Bust.

Thing is, you can do everything else right, but as long as Unfortunate Injury is on your squad, everything can go down in flames.

sometimes you can nail a home run on lottery night and be set to win multiple championships and be the team to beat for years and the player you drafted says fuck it and snorts a shit load of cocaine.............................................................................................................................

Cocaine Habit ended up ruining a lot of team's chances during his career in the 70s and 80s.

I think nobody posted a thread here, but Fab Melo, another C's 1st rounder died of a heart attach just earlier this month. Reggie Lewis another C's first rounder, died of heart failure. Eerily, both were taken at #22 overall in their respective drafts. I guess nobody noticed since Fab was out of the league too quickly.
