Larry Sanders looking to return to the NBA

Larry Sanders is 'officially stepping back into the game' two years after walking away from the NBA

Two years after Larry Sanders walked away from a lucrative NBA contract and checked himself into a program for anxiety, depression and mood disorders following four violations of the league’s marijuana policy, the former Milwaukee Bucks big man is “officially stepping back into the game.”

Sanders has been hinting about a comeback for weeks on social media, teasing Celtics fans with a series of cryptic tweets that included, “Coming to a city near you,” “Boston for New Year’s” and “Damn that was a good workout.” So, it should come as little surprise that this more official announcement coincided with reports he had indeed worked out with the C’s, first reported by RealGM’s Keith Smith.

He's still young, and he was starting to come into his own when he stepped away from the game, so it's no surprise that there's interest in his services. It's good to hear that he was able to get the help and treatment that he needed, and take care of his mental health to the point where he's regained his enthusiasm for the sport and wants to play again.

Portland could really use a good defensive Center, as Ezeli has Oden knees and was never that good in the first place. Not sure if Sanders is any good though, after a few years away from the game.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of money he'll be offered.

Probably not much more than the minimum. This seems like a Whiteside situation

Good deal for whoever picks him up if he pulls a Whiteside...and another big payday for him in the future.

This Is a business id be very surprised if he ever made any more than the vets min from here on out.

Even if he signed a multi year deal with a team there wouldn't be any guaranteed money tied to the contract meaning teams are going to protect themselves financially.

He saw Solomon Hill's contract and thought: man, I better jump into this sh*t again. (Using explicit language to emulate better his manners).
