Changes are saved automatically when you move to a new cell in the database. You need to be editing a saved roster, and then re-load the roster when you fire up the game.

A cell is a box in the database. Once you finish editing a value, just move to a different cell (box), and the changes are saved automatically.

Are you closing DB Commander (or at least, closing the file within DB Commander) before you load the roster in-game? If not, that will cause problems with the file not loading properly. Similarly, if the file is open in DB Commander and you try to save any changes in-game, they won't be saved properly.

You'd have to manipulate the art files for that. Basically, extract his tattoo files, rename them to match the PLAYERPKG of the player you want to assign them to, and then place them in a CustomArt folder. More info in these articles:

From memory, they should be in the xplayer.viv file.

Oh, the easiest option is the EA Graphics Editor. EAGE can extract from and import to .viv files, though in this case you only need to use it to open the .viv file and extract the tattoo files, which you can then rename and place in the appropriate CustomArt folder.
