Good work. (Y)

Sorry it took me since the day after the games release to test or this would have been released weeks ago. My bad.

Anyway the blog link was updated. You can get the proper version now.

Just some notes for this year's release. Its not that important so this is why i'm adding them as a post and not on the first post.

When i started updating the tool in order to add 2K17 support, I realized that there were issues (actually fatal bugs) from last year's version which pretty much destroyed a lot of the import capabilities of the tool.
I think i fixed them all again in this new version. We did test them together with TBM and made sure that all work. So hopefully you won't need to repack stuff with 7z this year. You can edit your iffs nice and easy with the iff editor.

Also another note for the audio imports. Not sure if this is how it was in 2K16. This year we discovered (actually maumau78 told me), some RESA files which are located within some sfx iff files. Those files are audio ogg files and i added an audio player in the iff editor just to be able to play them back. Now in order to import audio OVER those files, you'll notice that the dialog that comes up won't have an ogg option but just a RESA. No need to panic, simply rename your ogg file with a RESA extension and import it. Everything should work right away.

Exactly the same stuff. Exactly the same way of working. Only difference is that it actually works this year xD

Are we able to import multiple files at once this year like in 2K15?

One last question and I let you rest my man: when importing files, have the modded ones to have the same or close size of the substituted ones or it doesn't matter?

We weren't able to do so in 2K15, and still aren't. Greg was planning on implementing it, but the external file plugin sort of ended the need for that feature.

Hey Greg, I've just tested importing a modded shoe_style_510 file and I'm sorry to tell that it failed. These were my steps:

Went to the file in 0C / selected import / selected the modded file/ pressed apply changes.

App freezed right after pressing the button around a couple of minutes; this was the message it gave:

Captura.JPG

After it I just wanted to check if the modded file was now in the game, so I extracted the iff, but when I tried to extract the file 7Z gave me an error:

Captura2.JPG

I checked with the hex editor the erroneous file and happily it had the change I had done to the archive so...

...after this I decided to load the game and see if the change was applied but the game didn't even load, black screen and freeze after Paul George screen.

BTW, I leave you here the modded file I tried to import to 0C for if you want it for test. If successful, Air Jordan XI (regular model, not colorway) should have a fixed red outsole.

Hope this helps!

Well never the less, I still think Greg should implement it. There are still some files that the External File Plugin doesn't support like some referee textures. Last year when I made the Rio 2016 Patch, I had to make people import files through the explorer, the problem was that you had exit and re-enter every import. It was a massive pain in the ass, and I had to make a full tutorial telling people not to import multiple files at once otherwise it would fuck up the archive. Can you see now why that kind of thing needs to be implemented?

Hey Greg,

I tried importing an .ogg audio files like last year to overwrite a jukebox song and it acted like it worked... but when I try to go into the game the screen goes white. So I have to verify my game cache.

Can you look into this?
