Halfway through the season and my laptop decides to delete the word files which contained the game recaps and monthly recaps, etc. Seems like I should just sim the whole season and just shitpost the important events/trades that happened this season.

Montreal trades 5th pick for Bullets’ 4th pick

After getting the news that they have the 5th pick in the draft, thanks to the Bucks, the Ravens have decided to trade their 5th pick and next year’s 1st round pick for the Bullet’s 4th pick. This is a clear message from Montreal that they are indeed trying to get the best position to get favored big man Rae LaFrentz in this year’s draft.

Trade breakdown:

MON gets:
4th pick (4 stars)
1st round pick next year (1.5 stars)

WAS gets:
5th pick (4 stars)
1st round pick next year (2.5 stars)

Ravens pick up LaFrentz through mid-draft trade

The San Antonio Spurs seem to know what they are doing. The Spurs picked Raef LaFrentz using the 1st of their two picks. San Antonio knew how important Rae LaFrentz was for the Ravens so they decided to draft him to gain leverage against Montreal.

After just a minute of talking it over the phone, general manager David Parker already sealed the deal for the Ravens.

According to the deal, LaFrentz will be shipped to Montreal in exchange to the Ravens’ 4th pick, a 1st round pick for next year from Boston, and veteran forward Tyrone Hill.

Trade breakdown:

MON gets:
R. LaFrentz (72 OVR)

SAS gets:
T. Hill (69 OVR)
4th pick (4 stars)
1st round pick next year (3 stars)

an FYI to anyone that checks this thread (yes, I'm talking to you, internet bots), I've actually been very busy playing this franchise because it's literally the best 2k14 experience I've ever had. With that being said, I'd like to inform, everyone the bots, that I'm currently playing in the 04-05 season (6 seasons of shitposts) so expect more from this thread. That's all. :D

Re: ||Montreal Ravens|| RAVENS SIGN KEVIN GARNETT

Postby Kevin on Tue Oct 04, 2016 3:10 pm

Garnett makes it official, signs with Montreal

In what seemed like forever inside general manager David Parker’s office last night, it was officially announced that they have successfully signed Kevin Garnett in a 3 year deal and an additional 1 year deal with a player option. The whole contract is worth $65M, the biggest signing in the last 4 seasons.

“We are definitely excited and thrilled that he is now onboard with us.” Said general manager Parker.

When Kobe Bryant, the team’s captain, was asked about the signing, he was all smiles and said, “Finally, man! We had a great run last season but fell short against Miami. No better way than coming back stronger, right?”

Ravens sign B.J. Armstrong

Montreal announced Tuesday night that Armstrong has inked a 2-year deal worth $3.2M and a team option in his 2nd year. Armstrong has been a free agent for 3 seasons and is looking for a potential come back in the NBA.

Montreal waives Bowen and Daugherty

After playing for the Ravens for its whole lifetime, the Ravens have decided to let go of Brad Daugherty. Daugherty was a beast when he’s healthy but his constant injuries kept him on the sidelines for way too long for the Ravens. Daugherty has missed more games that he played for the Ravens with a ratio of 3:1. Bowen was also waived by the Ravens following his desire to be signed by another team.

Ravens trade Tracy McGrady in 3-team trade

Days after McGrady voiced out his desire to be traded to a “legit title contender”, Montreal decided to ship him to Milwaukee. McGrady will form a young “BIG 3” with Iverson at the point, him at the forward spot, and Duncan at center. In return, the Bucks traded away Danny Fortson and their 1998 and 1999 1st round pick.

“We don’t want that attitude in this organization. If he thinks we're not title contenders - or not going to be title contenders - then so be it.” Said general manager David Parker about their intentions.

Aside from McGrady, the Ravens also traded rookie Michael Olowokandi and their 1998 (Spurs) and 1999 1st round pick for Corliss Williamson and a 1999 1st round pick.

Trade Summary

Montreal gets:
Danny Fortson (67) from Milwaukee
Corliss Williamson (68) from Vancouver
1998 1st round pick from Milwaukee
1999 1st round pick from Milwaukee
1999 1st round pick from Vancouver

Milwaukee gets:
Tracy McGrady (85) from Montreal

Vancouver gets:
Michael Olowokandi (68) from Montreal
1998 1st round pick (Spurs) from Montreal
1999 1st round pick from Montreal

Nice thread you've got going here. I pondered doing a throwback franchise myself a few years ago but couldn't find the roster for it. Definitely interesting to see how history can be rewritten in a sense and with an expansion team it's even more intriguing. (Y)

RAVENS DODGE BULLETS IN SEASON-OPENER

Image

Washington Bullets [0-1] @ Montreal Ravens [0-0] 76-92

Oct. 30, Montreal – For what feels like a well-established team, Montreal made a statement win in their season-opener. The Ravens handed the Bullets their second straight loss tonight with a 16-point win.

Montreal led by as much as 19 in the first half but an early 3rd quarter surge by the Bullets against the Ravens’ bench cut the lead to just 5 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

It was a different story in the 4th quarter for the Bullets and the Ravens. Montreal just kept hitting tough shots over tough defenses and it led to a 12-0 run that saw the lead balloon to 24 late in the 4th quarter. The game ended with the Bullets making an 8-0 run to cut the deficit to 16 points.

Garnett, whom the Ravens signed this Free Agency, grabbed 12 rebounds and scored 24 points tonight and sent away 3 shots to get the Player of the Game honor.

“I have a good feeling about this team. I really think we’re on to something special here in Montreal.” Implied the young forward.

Bryant came second in scoring for Montreal with 23 points and was a pest on defense where he managed to steal the ball 4 times. Despite scoring 23, he only managed to sink 8 of his 22 attempts and was 1 of 8 from downtown.

It was rookie Bonzi Wells who led the Bullets in scoring. He finished with 21 points but committed 8 turnovers in his NBA debut.

Player of the Game: Kevin Garnett (24 pts, 12 rebs, 3 blks)

Ravens:
K. Bryant (23 pts, 2 rebs, 2 asts, 4 stls)
C. Williamson (11 pts, 9 rebs, 5 asts, 1 stl)
C. Billups (11 pts, 3 rebs, 8 asts, 4 stls)

Bullets:
B. Wells (21 pts, 2 rebs, 2 asts)
R. Wallace (14 pts, 5 rebs, 3 stls)
