Yeah you would notice the difference. The scroll lock key toggles the shaders, so if you don't see a change after hitting the key, it's not working.

Seems like something is conflicting with dxgi.dll. you might try downloading the free program autoruns, and taking a look at the startup tab. You can disable any suspicious startup processes, such as adobe updater, and giving it a go.

I was having some issues with this (game crashing or just the settings not loading properly) and it turned out I had Reshade 1.0 instead of the latest one. I deleted the one I had and re-downloaded the latest version and everything works now. maybe that can help someone fix their issues.

Thanks TRIIIAD. We've been trying to find a solution for Avatar, but confirmed that he's using the latest version of Reshade (2.0.3). Your post could help someone else though, so thanks for that, and you gave me an idea...

Avatar, you might try downloading the latest beta version of Reshade (Reshade 3.0), and see if by chance that fixes your issue. First delete all the reshade/sweetfx files in your NBA 2K17 directory, and then download Reshade 3.0 and follow my instructions above.

i don't think that it would help at all i mean i had no problems with dxgi.dll files in nba2k16 or in any other game in the past why now?
it must be something very strange about the dxgi.dll and the game itself when i rename it to d3d11 the game launches but the effect is
missing i rename it back to dxgi and the game won't lunch but the .exe is running i can see it on my task-manager then i have to kill it

@TRIIIAD of course im using the latest version of the reshade

Yeah man, it's frustrating. If you want to give up, however I still hold out hope that we can get to the bottom of it. If you want to try one more thing, please let me know the following (below), so I can post the issue on the Reshade forum. If it's happening to you, I'm sure it's happening to at least some others (or will, if/when they by the game).

1) Your monitor resolution and whether your run the game full screen, windowed, etc.
2) Your in game Vsync settings (i.e. on/off and dynamic vsync setting on/off)
3) In game AA setting
4) In game buffer count (default is 3, I think).
5) A general sense of your other in game settings low/medium/high etc.

I'm having the same problem but one "solution" I've found is to open NBA 2k17 multiple times in succession(mash enter). I'll have like 7 instances of it, and one of them will load the actual game with reshade.

1) my native Monitor res. is 1920x1080 with G-Sync but i use DSR @1440p in all of my games (always full screen)
2) Vsync/dynamic vsync OFF
3) AA 2x i think is more than enough because of DSR @1440p
4) buffer count @ 1
5) Maxed out

Try opening the game several times in quick succession. It eventually works for me.

EDIT: Then do Ctrl+shift+esc and exit out of the NBA2k17.exe instances that aren't active.

hopefully can someone fix it and we can start the game when we click on the executable
once

Good stuff Alpha cheese!! I would try with clean settings (not sure where the setting file is, but save it somewhere then delete it from the directory so the game creates a new settings file when you start it next(and resets your settings to default.) Wonder if it's DSR ? Although I use it to push 4K reso, but perhaps it behaves differently on different systems/monitors/resolutions.

Alphacheese could you share your ingame settings, and whether you use DSR?

Also heard there's a new nvidia driver out today... Might help.

AA = 4
AA quality = 4
Vsync = on
Dynamic Vsync = off
All details = on/high
Buffer Count = 3
Max Anisitropy = 16
Vibration = 3.0 (Xbox One controller)
Dynamic Environment Map = on

No DSR (that's an Nvidia thing, right?) and I'm using an R9 390 video card (AMD)

Also, with that workaround I mentioned earlier-- be sure you open up task manager in windows(ctrl+shift+esc), go to processes tab, and end process for all NBA2K17.exe that's not running (since you have to open it several times until it works). Otherwise it'll eat up your memory.

Are you using the Tool to use mods (the dll's etc)? The game started normally for me when using Reshade with Goldenstates settings, I have the problem that the game starts only when starting it multiple times ever since I installed the tool to use mods. Maybe that is what causes the problem and not Reshade? Or the combination of the two? Haven't tested it further yet.

Okay I made a lighter version without HDR but didn't have a chance to post it before leaving on a short work trip. Should be able to post Tuesday or Wednesday if you wanna check back then. It looks pretty much the same as this one, just no HDR and no SMAA. Should be better for those struggling to maintain 60fps.

I will also add all of my 2k15 and 2k16 settings, as they work fine and look good on 2k17. You can switch between them while in game. Alt tab to reshade a mediator app. Will include instructions.

Finally let me know if you have ideas for another preset. Was thinking a cinematic mod for screenshots, videos etc.

Hmm I'm also having the issue where the 2k17 Import tool is conflicting with the Reshade. When I remove the .dll file of the import tool, the reshade works and the game loads and vice versa. Doesnt seem like the two runs together? Anybody else having this issue?

hmm for those who has the problem, what graphic card do you have? I am not sure if its graphic card related but prior to updating my AMD card drivers today, there were no problems. I updated my driver this morning and it issues start happening. I just wanna see if this is driver related.

EDIT: I just did a installation of an older driver and it did not solve the issue. I guess its not driver related.

Good find johnnyman. So are you using the beta reshade (reshade 3.0) or did you just copy over the dxgi.dll ?
