The website even says "worldwide" and I have yet to hear back from their support. I want to play the game by tonight and not pay full retail. I can't find any site for US users at the time. I wish GMG had those VIP prices back.

Edit: They just changed their listing on the website. Now it only says Europe region. What gives? I'm about to request my refund very soon. Thank goodness for Paypal.

The cd key you buy has a region lock. For example, if you buy a key that has a Europe, Asia, Africa region lock you can only activate it in those continents. I'm saying that you could have bought one, you should probably get a refund and buy a US region locked code.

I'll try gamestop and trade in my unused 2k16 Xbox One copy and hope for $10-15 for a rebate on the PC version. After learning we get to choose our FA then I didn't worry too much about the Pre-Order.

Changing your country doesn't change anything. Steam just looks at your IP address and can see to you're in the US. So the only way to activate it is by using a VPN to make it look like you're in the EU, which is against Steam rules and will probably get you banned if you're caught. So the best option right now is to refund, if a refund isn't an option I guess you're fucked. It could be the case that the key is fake, although I doubt Cd keys would sell fake keys.

Support got back to me. I requested a refund on Paypal.

Hi,

Sincere apologies for the issue with your order and the inconvenience caused by this problem.

There has been a mix up at our end with our distributor in that the code that has been sent out to you is for Europe only. We are still hopeful of being able to supply the correct version in time for the release on Tuesday 20th. Alternatively, we can cancel your order and offer you a discount voucher equal to approximately $6.

Please let us know how you would like to proceed.

Kind Regards,

Everything went smoothly and I was able to receive my refund. I still want to be able to play by 9PM PST. I'm looking for any discount sites for US region, but I'm worried I have to go through the same trouble again. It sucks not wanting to pay retail, but I guess this is what I get.

Shit, 2K support takes forever, they sold me the key, the site has no warning about region blocks. I don't want a refund, I want it activated.

Then try a VPN, but only to activate it!

Re: Any website you know that sells NBA 2k17?

But doesn't it also need VPN to launch the game? 2K told me to reach out to Digital River, who I already contacted 4 times before with out a single bot reply.

I really doubt it. Keys normally don't have a VPN requirement to play the Game, only to activate. Not 100% sure, but I'd say give it a try. Worst case you have to remove the Game from your account, but I'd say its more likely it activates and you can play it without a problem.

No hurry, got an extra 24 hours to go. Maybe then, still need advice from someone who's gone through the same scenario before resorting to that.

hmm now the question is should i go get a refund from gamestop for 60bucks and try gamedeals do you know if its a legit website

Re: Any website you know that sells NBA 2k17?

i don't know for sure this is the first time i've purchased from them so i'm hoping they're legit. i did contact them before ordering to find out if the key would activate in the us, because gamesplanet's was region locked, and they assured me it would so i gave it a shot.

they seem to have a good reputation according to this site if it helps
