Talk about NBA 2K17 here.

Title. Would want to give it to my 2 nephews so I'm looking at sales primarily.
To clear things up, I'm talking about steam keys.

CDKeys has it pretty cheap, but they increased the price lately from 30€ to 32€...
GMG also has it, and they always offer a 20% Off Code, but probably still more expensive then from some Keysellers.

CDKeys has the lowest price I found. It's for release on the 20th.
The best price I've found for 4 day early release is $59.99. May as well buy it direct on Steam.
All that "digital delivery will make games cheaper and faster into consumer's hands" is, as I said at the time Steam was first announced, baloney.

Well u technically can get the game cheaper using cdkeys.com.
Also you can get it faster with steam preloading and early edition thru steam.
You just can't get it cheaper "and" faster. It's an either/ or sceneraio.

I got the Legend Edition Gold for 75 bucks, that's 25% off from retail Steam, from the official 2K store. Early tip-off included but they're yet to distribute the activation keys.

When I view the
PC version at CDKeys it says:
"Pre-Order - Key will be available on
or before 20th September 2016"
I can't speak from personal experience about CDKeys since this year will be the first time buying from them. However, last year I believe everyone who pre-ordered got the game early...

Yes, it says the same thing for me. Some people on operationsports claimed that it was the case last year and they still got the game early. Let's hope

I've wondered why CD Keys has cheap prices.

All Keysellers work the same way. They buy cheap Physical-Boxes from 3rd World Countries and resell the Steamkeys from it.

No more voucher on GMG
But a best price on a real legal site if you login, 22% 38.99€

I always advise caution when dealing with gray market like g2a or cdkeys.
While somewhat rare, issues with these sites are real. Especially be cautious about the g2a's shield program or however they call it.
As far as going cheap, greenmangaming is pretty much cheapest legit site out there in general.
I personally prefer box versions where applicable though.

GMG has replaced voucher codes with member discounts, so there's always the possibility of a "VIP price" (which is what I believe they're calling them now). Just logged in, and saw that it's 22% off on all versions, if you're a GMG member.

What price do you see? It's $59.99 for PC early access when I log in.
Mon Sep 12, 2016 10:28 am
$54.59 for the standard edition, $77.99 for the Legend Edition, and $93.99 for the Legend Edition Gold.
Mon Sep 12, 2016 12:45 pm
Those are dolaroos though, right?
I got 39€ for basic edition.
Mon Sep 12, 2016 12:52 pm
USD, that's right.
Mon Sep 12, 2016 3:05 pm
Wait, they're charging 70 dollars for the basic edition, and then pretending it's 22% off at 55 dollars? That's such fuckery. The game is 60 on steam, so in comparison, that's just 8% off. For that little of a discount, why not just buy it on Steam? Especially if GMG is tricking you into thinking it's a sale when it's not.

Box versions are getting increasingly rare though. Let me know if you find one anywhere. Digital Download is here to stay and probably cheaper (not to purchase) to produce because, no discs or packaging is involved.

We have box edition over here, but it's just a code in a box in NBA's case. And it doesn't come early (the 4 day early bonus).
As far as other games go, we have plenty of box editions... However distributors often overprice collector editions.

Could be an Australian mark-up, which is still messed up since GMG actually charges Australian customers in US dollars. I actually pre-ordered my PC copy from the 2K Store this year which worked out cheaper ($69.95 AUS), and the PS4 version from JB Hi-Fi.
Mon Sep 12, 2016 5:26 pm
When I'm logged in at GMG it shows $59.99 - no discounts.
$54.99 is not 22% off the regular price. It's $59.99 on Steam. 22% off would be $46.79.
Mon Sep 12, 2016 7:40 pm
I never said that $54.99 was 22% off the regular price of $59.99. I said that I logged in and saw that it was 22% off for all versions, which it is for the prices that I'm seeing (as shown in the screenshot above). Given the discrepancy, it would seem that GMG is indeed charging Australian customers more - pre-discount, anyway - while also doing so in US dollars.
With that in mind, I don't think I'll be dealing with them anymore. It'd be one thing if the regular price was $69.95 AUD, as we normally pay $70-80 for games in stores. But to mark it up $10 USD so that it works out to be over $90 AUD...yeah, no saving there, and probably why they're offering a discount to Australian users for pre-orders. The 2K Store was still cheaper at $69.95 AUD, though.
Anyway, that explains why I'm seeing a discounted price, and folks in the US aren't. And yeah, I think I'll avoid dealing with them from now on, having discovered that.

Price here in Europe seem to match, so it's probably aussies getting ripped off. Like always, sorry.

Reminds me of a Penny Arcade
strip.

For the record, when I check out on the price on Steam it's $59.99 USD, which again works out to be around the $80 AUD we usually pay.
