Still guys, I will try out prelude and see if it really can do the job, as for NBA Live I scanned my face and I liked the results, but the hair was the issue, and 2K has the hair, but I didn't play live...

No need to go out of your way to insult me. I intended to acknowledge that he may have been scanned in like a player - but we can't be sure. As stated above, the NBA Live scan worked exceptionally well.

So if I am not mistaken NBA 2K17 Prelude on PS4/XBOX 360 is completely free or do you have to pre-order the main game to be able to play Prelude? As I also have PS4 then I will just enjoy early content on PS4 and then purchase the game for PC. I dont care about "head start" so my character will come with 80 attribute in the main game because I mostly play offline.

It's like a demo, it's completely free on September 9th.

It's a standalone experience that carries over into the full game, if you pick up the full game as well.

Yeah it's like a demo, it gives you the beginning and a taster of what MyCareer will be like. I remember NBA Live did a similar thing with NBA Elite 11 before it got axed, you could make your player in the demo and then continue it on in the full game if you wanted to. Of course that never happened because the game never released.

The NBA Live 16 demo did the same thing, as did the Draft Combine for NBA 2K10. It's a nifty idea, just a shame it's console-only.

I may be mistaken, but isn't the Prelude only a head start on your MyCareer so you can be ahead when the game comes out on 9/16? Without the Prelude you have to wait until 9/16 to start your career which could mean the main game includes almost everything content-wise that's included in the Prelude.

So PC players are only missing out on the chance to begin the full MyCareer on 9/9 instead of having to wait until 9/16. It doesn't appear to me we're missing out on content. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

All of the content in The Prelude is still in NBA 2K17 PC. There's just no early hands-on/head start on MyCAREER. In terms of the actual content, the PC isn't missing out on anything in The Prelude, with the exception of the face scanning through the MyNBA2K17 app.

BTW Prelude on PC could be good testing of optimization period. In the other hand if optimization is bad it might ruin all Pre-Orders.

Absolutely. If nothing else, it'd be nice for the PC userbase to get an early taste of the game as well. At least the content is from the full version of the PC/PS4/X1 version though, so it's still something that everyone will be able to experience on all three platforms, when the full game drops.

On the missing face scan app for the PC, I'm not sure I would have used it anyway. Probably would not want people seeing my face in MyPark as I grind my loins in front of them whilst taunting. (Joking, I rarely taunt)

It would definitely make for a more interesting MyPark though. Wonder if it would crack down on the anti-social behavior in MyPark as your avatar is no longer an anonymous generic dude.

Fyi prelude not yet available in NA for PS4

If my experiences with 2K Pro-Am on PS4 are anything to go by, the presence of face scanning definitely wouldn't stand in the way of a lot of people creating players that look nothing like themselves.

Well, first of all face scan feature is present in PC version of 2K16, there was no mention of it being removed from PC version (as opposed to X1/PS4, where it was explicitly stated) and it's likely the reason behind PC not having face scan via mobile app.

Second, face scanning does nothing to any "anti-social behavior" as it's not mandatory.

All things considered we have no info about anything missing from the PC version of the full game.
