Compiling some comprehensive resources on everything from the basics to advanced modding is very important, I feel. From making the most basic changes to big projects, I think there needs to be some kind of step-by-step guide for everything we know, or at the very least an "edit this if you want to change that" reference list. When someone who's new to the modding scene asks a question, it's very easy to skip over some of these details, either because we assume they know them, or the people who are helping out the most have understandably grown a bit weary of answering the same questions in great detail, time and time again.
I think IamSamke's "guide" last year for 2k16 was really helpful. Those guides are great every year because they give everybody the links to the best threads in one place, it's organized... well done.
I think whats been missing is more tutorials. I made some video tutorials of stuff I knew, but I don't think that was enough. We have really talented people who make cyberfaces (Peacemannot, TBM, etc), a cyberface tutorial would be huge. Razor made one awhile back for NBA 2k14, but obviously we need a new one. I think that big project mods are limited because not enough people know how to make cyberfaces.
The cool thing about making cyberfaces is it's free. Anybody can download blender and free editing programs like Paint.net or GIMP to get the job done. I would love to learn, but every time I start I make a million mistakes because I don't have a tutorial.
