Talk about NBA 2K17 here.

Saw this thread over at OS, thought it was a good one. Lots of interesting ways of introducing yourself to the new release.
------------------------------
For me it will be the same as every year: Go into the roster editor and see what's editable with players and lineups etc. See if there's any new attributes/tendencies. See whether we can customize bodytypes/tattoos this year. See how customizable the new freelance offenses are. See whether coaches/owners/staff members are editable yet. See what editing draft classes is like. Basically check out whatever elements of the NBA landscape are customizable.
Then i'll spend a couple of hours editing rosters/attributes as i see fit.
After that i'll go into MyLEAGUE mode and do some test simming and sim like 10 seasons ahead to get a feel for player progression/regression, stats, see what generated players are like, etc. See whether last year's flaws got fixed. After that i'll decide whether i'm going to invest serious time into the game this year.
After that it's time to get a feel for the gameplay, i'll do that through the tutorial vids in 2KU as well as playing some good teams against some bad teams and vice versa.
Once things start to get a little repetitive after a few months i'll dive into MyCAREER or MyTEAM etc.
What will you do? Any suggestions?

I also like to play a few exhibition/Play Now games with good teams vs bad teams. I want to be challenged in time, but especially when there's been some changes to the controls, I want to get a good handle on them before I dive into games that count, and I'd like to eliminate as much frustration as possible while I'm doing so. Before any of that though, I'll probably run through tutorials/shoot around in the practice gym.
I'll at least set up my MyTEAM, though I probably won't dive into the challenges straight away. I'll be playing through The Prelude on the PS4 version as well, so I guess that also counts as something I'll be doing straight away.
I'm also interested to see if anything has been added to roster editing this year. As I said before, I feel like the best way to modify the games moving forward - in lieu of official tools or file formats that are really easy to work with - is to be able to do practically everything from within the game. It'd be great if there are a few more steps towards that in NBA 2K17.
I'll also check into MyLEAGUE/MyGM, but I won't start a "proper" game until I feel like I've got a handle on the gameplay.

For me the formula is the exact same every year. Install the game and as soon as it’s ready to play I jump straight into MyLeague and pick a team to control. Once I’ve picked my team I start playing games from the beginning of the season.

Scan my face and check out Euroleague teams.

Rosters > sliders > Quick game mode > myleague

Max out my video settings and jump straight into an exhibition game. If I see any stutter/random frame drops, I play with the video config until I am satisfied with the frame rate.

Switch back and forth between the video settings and Play Now until I'm satisfied before realizing that the game probably needs a patch again to run smoothly.
Then practicing shooting and layups in practice mode I guess.

Spoken like a true modder.
I want to create some community stuff like upload team designs immediately Using in game features. Being on PC I feel we are at an advantage.
Also I want to recreate my 2K14 association team. We just won a championship in 2016-2017 season.I always try recreate old association teams in newer versions of the game.
