Many are clearly threatened by Nano Technology. The screenshots of 2k17 pale in comparison. Now an intervention is being planned. Read this article.

http://www.nba-live.com/the-friday-five ... top-doing/

I've managed to make the visuals of old architecture exceed that of the new architecture. I interpret this article as a cry for help. 2k sports has lost its creativity and innovation is now at the mercy of a so-called lowly modder to bring life back to the series. NLSC, however, could do a better job at paying homage to those who are single-handedly responsible for bringing the modding community to where it is today. How can people be in denial of Nano Tech, everyone's seen it by now. I just don't get it.

This screenshot was just released on the Team USA website:
http://www.usab.com/news-events/news/20 ... ement.aspx

Graphics wise not much has changed. Some players have the exact same faces from last year. Paul George still looks really bulky and Melos Leg accessories still clip through each other. Obviously the big joke right now is it looks like PG is sinking into the ground and Kyrie is just floating but I'm sure that was just a bug they never fixed when taking the screenshot. Draymond Green and DeRozan are both missing from the screenshot but you can see the side of someone's arm on the right. Some notable cyberface changes would be Kyle Lowry, Kyrie Irving, Carmelo Anthony and Klay Thompson.

One of the biggest problems with NBA 2k16 was also the clipping. Look at Paul Georges feet sinking into the floor. It completely ruins the realism when players limbs/bodies go through the floor, or through one another. It happens 100's of times a game.

In regards to Nano Tech, this is the NBA 2k17 thread. You are talking about your "modding" of NBA 2k14, please don't bring that topic into this thread.

Please don't feed the trolls, folks. I know it's hard, and we like to get our $0.02 in, myself included; but there's no reason to let this thread derail. Let's all have a quiet chuckle as we wait for the next batch of leaked screenshots. (Y)

Dee4Three, it looks like that melting into the floor was rectified in an updated shot of the team? I did not play 2K16 so I'm not sure about the rest, but I don't think these promo shots will give us a real idea of what's what. We need some in-game shots, and really, videos (obvious statement is obvious, I know) :D

I never put much into early screenshots. We've been seeing this for years where everything doesn't look 100% right, then it's fixed later, but I do agree with Dee to where I believe that with the tech that's out here now, we should see less and less clipping. It does take away from the experience and it's such an eye sore, especially since we each own HD displays. But it is what it is, maybe we'll get there one day. The crazy thing is that this community has done such a great job with modding of a 3-year-old game that I could care less about the release of 2K17. Yes, I'm looking forward to what they have implemented, what they've tightened up, etc., but I'm always content with the projects my NLSC brothers have put out. Thanks guys

P.S. I used to enjoy the journey of the development of the game, but those days are gone. Oh well.

I like the progress the game has made with myleague, but I have refrained from buying 2k15 and 2k16. I've played both and I have stuck w/ 2k14 because of preference and modding.

I'm hoping 2k17 gives me a reason to pickup the game again but if we cant do certain things, then i don't care how good/ bad the leaked photos look.

I can only hope that it resonates with the people who could stand to learn from it. Fortunately, that's a minority of modders, but I felt it was worth putting out there all the same. The community deserves better than that.

i was so hyped before 2k15 release, i lost my whole enthusiasm after 1 day with next gen, same with 2k16, for me next gen is officialy dead gen and im not talking about modding possibilities, im talking about monstrual animation continuation with every damn move. Paul Georges feet sinking into the floor tells me whole story about 2k17, they are too lazy to fix simply things since.... 3years, they started next gen in 2014, whole 2015 and now 2016, 3YEARS!. Players limbs/bodies go through the objects or floor or other players, just NO 2k, not again and again. We are not blind for sake.

Sko, I have a lot of the same feelings (as you and I have discussed prior). The issues with a lot of Next Gen games (Including Madden) are similar to the ones that I and many others have about Next gen 2k. The animations feel sluggish, hitting a button on the controller isn't as reactive it seems on next gen as it is on last gen (Time between the button is pressed and the animation happens), and the athletes interacting with there surroundings (Including other players) seems really off. My brothers and I play a lot of NBA 2k16 (Because we decided to really try and dedicate to it), and the amount of times we pause the game laughing to show crazy animations like players going THROUGH eachother, through the floor, etc is staggering... we probably pause it 30 times a game. And that doesn't even begin to touch the surface, I could live with that as long as the gameplay was still sound... however... the defensive AI is atrocious (even on Hall of Fame), your AI does not act realistically to the ball movement, and players get back doored constantly, no tweaking of the settings fixed this. Body steals and body blocks are insane, they happen ALL the time. Players losing the ball on a fastbreak where it seems they just dribbled on a dead spot on the floor because the ball didn't touch another player. Driving contact that just looks foolish, dunk attempts that fly over the rim... I could go on and on.

I will admit, after patch 4 the game became more playable. But we had to do SO MUCH to make it playable and fun, including: Tweaking player contact shot frequency, players speed, players acceleration. Not to mention the complete lack of attention given to the classic teams (I cant even describe how bad they did the ratings... its really frustrating). I've contributed to the modding of NBA 2k16, but I really need to see an improvement in the gameplay and attention to detail on the classic teams.

This comes back to Paul George sinking through the floor. Yes, I know they fixed the screenshot... but him sinking through the floor, and that being released, still raises serious questions about what they are doing with next gen. Will these problems ever be fixed? We are on year number 3 for the PC and 4 on the console... I really wish they had kept making the PC games last gen, because at this moment I am struggling to see a bright future of modding with PC Next gen.

As long as they fix the obvious bugs, like insane offensive rebounding, defending shooters coming off screens, ridiculous mid range and 3 pt shots made with contested defense, and weak side defense to stop easy layups at the rim, then I'll be happy.

Here's a summary of how he felt the new game felt:

- There is a new shot meter, you basically now need to fill a semi-circle instead of having to stop the shot meter bar in the middle.
- He is saying that players don't look so wide in the actual game, but he refers to arms being "weird". He only played for 5 minutes but said that body shapes are quite changed.
- Faces are not so changed, Kevin Love is really improved.
- Curry keeps shooting the lights out and LeBron James is really unstoppable when going into the paint (no mention to game difficulty).
- He said that celebrations after a basket are really improved, adding quick camera shots of the bench, mascot and stuff.
- Scoreboard is confirmed to be smaller and less disruptive.
- Game controls are quite similar to 2k16.
- He liked graphics, he said body models are more like NBA Live this year.

Also from another user @HDWolvie:

- Graphic seems more fluid
- Player models look bigger
- He does notice a lot of changes in the faces and hair styles
- A lot of new animations (shots, movements, etc)
- Controls are the same as 2k16
- He finds body shapes really strange, he could barely recognise KD or Draymond Green from lateral view (? I don't know if this will be an issue or it's just his appreciation)
- Really likes game fluidity, even though he dislike player's bodies, said that playing the game feels really good.
- Confirms new shot meter, basically you need to fill a bar and stop the shot within the colored end

Today is when press get a chance to play the game, and tomorrow is when everyone gets to play. So we probably won't be getting any gameplay today.

This is a picture that someone took of a screen. There's literally no way to get a sense of the lighting from that image.

Agreed.

However, in a way I am hoping that is NOT the final scoreboard they will use. I saw another screenshot supposedly "leaked" that showed the TNT logo (probably BS).

Turned out that image was just NBA Inside 09 unfortunately... I have feeling this is the final scoreboard.
