ScoreboardsHi all,
No, these are not exactly like the Broadcast scoreboards... However, this is progress and a good alternative. I was able to locate Newscorebug.iff in 2Z on NBA 2k Explorer. The Newscorebug file (the inside of it) is massive, but I was able to locate the 2k sports logo that sits in the scoreboard. I was able to replace this file, making three TNT scoreboards (2016/Gold/Silver), NBA TV, ESPN, and an alternate JUMPMAN scoreboard. All you do is place the newscorebug.iff download into your Modded folder.
These are technically the first scoreboard mods for this game, I do not know how to hex edit, so this was the best I could do for now. Right now I am working on the wipe (Gooeyoverlaystatic) to see if I can make the wipe a TNT/NBA TV one. Maybe this will motivate people to start modding this game more. There is a lot of untapped potential.
Stay tuned, feedback would be great.
Thanks!

Honestly, I don't think this game is that limited. I think that the modding community has gotten a little smaller in the form of people who are interested in modding globals/scoreboards/presentation etc. All I see is courts and CF tweaks for the most part. They are great, but it would be nice to have some new mods in here. I was looking through the files, and during halftime they have the big 2k SPORTS logos on EJ/Kenny/Shaqs desk, and tons of other 2k sports logos in general we can replace. TNT presentation is certainly possible.
The problem I'm having with the wipe... its a 3d clash between "2k" and "sports" (they come from the left and right and meet in the middle). I cant find the textures in gooeyoverlaystatic for those pieces, and I am not sure how the 3d aspect of it works (The animation aspect). I feel like making that wipe NOT 2k would really add the the realistic presentation of the game.
And yes, these scoreboards are simple. I used Paint.net to make sure the logos were transparent, the right size, and saved right. The NBA logo to the far left of the scoreboard can also be changed (I havn't decided if I want to yet). And although these scoreboards are simple, it's more about getting people more into the idea of modding the presentation of this game. I wish I could hex edit, and I wish I was better in blender, but atleast this is a start.
And personally.... I think the Jumpman logo in that scoreboard looks really cool.

Also, I found the panels for that sit behind the NBA logo, and the far right logos I used. So I could change the colors of those, style or whatever.
Oh and FYI, 2Z in NBA 2k Explorer also has gooeyoverlaystatic, gooeyglobal, etc.

Without Sixers85 you can pretty much forget hex editing scoreboards.... I don't know anyone else who knows how to do it.

Is he not around anymore?
And are the scoreboard edits above any interest to anyone on here? I'm trying to give people options.

A couple things with Bliss:
1. He doesn't share his work without trade or donation. Even than, the person who would get his work wouldn't be allowed to share it, because he wants trades and donations from different people for the same work.
2. I have sent Bliss PM's, I've asked him for work in the past, and he said he either didn't have it anymore, or told me that he only trades.
We need to forget about Bliss in regards to openly sharing work, we need someone who wants to share and work with the community. I would be all over it if I knew how to hex edit, but I can't seem to find a tutorial on how to do it. I don't even know what files to open.

Anyone thinks the size of the scoreboard could be edited ? I know I am thinking way to far for the moment, but an ESPN scoreboard would be brilliant

Dee4Three, if thats the case then your best shot of Hex editing would be in the 2k11 scoreboard tutorial section i assume.
I hate Mondays, Man i wish lol...But for now its baby steps this is a nice find by Dee4Three,

Okay, I will check it out.
Also, did anybody know that Roster.iff and Injuryfreeroster.iff are in 2Z? They are RDAT files, but I just wanted to throw that out there..
Also, does anybody know how to open a SCNE file? That's what the 2k wipe is in gooeyoverlaystatic.

I guess Im confused about something... why can't I view Global.iff in OB? it's an indexerror. Has anybody else had luck opening this?
However, some progress... I was able to input eventmusic (It's in 1m), you use the same audio input format in audacity (project rate 48000). The halftime show music (and pregame/postgame music) starts at eventmusic 2757, and the in game eventmusic starts at eventmusic 2928. Its easy to input just like for jukebox music.

Just updated the first post with a TNT 2016 scoreboard (with the new logo they use in the scoreboard now) and ESPN scoreboard

Yeah I know that, but I wanted to be able to at least view the files with the iff editor in 2k Explorer..
Oh well.

I think I'll work on a full TNT presentation if I can edit all the program/halftime/post game 2k logos out (change them to appropriate TNT ones). Because I figured out the eventmusic portion, I could add the real TNT themes, which I think would add realism to the game.
In regards to scoreboards, I think I've maxed out my capabilities in this regard... I have not tried to hex edit. But, atleast you folks have scoreboard options now.
