Lakers take advantage of Harden's slump

Recap | Box Score | Highlights Image

MVP: Anthony Davis. He finished with 28 points and 9 rebounds including a career-high 6 blocks in his first game as a Laker. The future seems bright for him here in LA.

LVP: James Harden. Yes, he scored 30 points that's expected of him. Attempting 35 attempts? Not really his cup of tea. He only shot 11 of his 35 attempts and was 2 of 9 from downtown. He also committed a career-high 8 Turnovers.

X-Factors: Julius Randle and Emmanuel Mudiay. They both played well together as both of them had double-doubles. Randle had 25 points with 13 rebounds and Mudiay got 19 and 10. The Greek Freak also contributed to the win as he also had a double-double tonight. He finished with 18 points and 10 assists for the Lakers.

That was... frustrating: No matter what they do, they just can't seem to get their shots to fall in the 2nd Quarter. The Lakers outscored them, 28 to 9 as the Lakers went on a rally that obviously sealed the deal for them. The Rockets' frustration wasn't just on why they can't shoot the ball but on the turnovers they committed. They gave away 19 possessions to the Lakers, 9 of those were in the 2nd Quarter.

Player of the Game: Anthony Davis (28* pts, 9 rebs, 6* blks) * = career high

Other Notable Performers:

D. Howard (16 pts, 16 rebs)
A. Brooks (13 pts, 2 rebs, 7 asts)

What do you guys think about the new format? I was planning on making a review for a special game every week unlike last season. Full credits of this idea goes to Martti. I copied how he did his articles since its just better than mine.

I would still start Kobe just for everything's he has done, don't have to pay him 35 minutes, but still. Also, Jaylen Brown and Anthony Davis? I can say that's a lethal combo. (Y)

Martti., thanks for sending in your answers. Going to name him a starter after this week.
TGsoGood, he better do that or the money I spent would've been for nothing.

That was a very strong off-season for you. Davis is the perfect guy to take over the team from Kobe once he retires.

It must be really fun for you with that young and talented line-up :)

Indeed. I just hope Davis and Randle co-exist with each other. Right now, Julius wants to test Free Agency when the season ends.

It really is fun aside from changing my lineups almost every game. Consistency was and still is this team's weakness. You'll have guys go off for 20 one night and then shoot 1 of 16 in the next game. Still a very fun experience, though.

Paul fades away beyond the arc to get the win

CP3's shot win it for the Clippers; 113-115

Recap | Box Score | Highlights Image

MVP: Chris Paul. He was hot throughout the game and contributed mainly on the offensive end where he finished with 10 assists for a double-double finish.

LVP: Kobe Bryant. Kobe wanted to take the winning shot and he had 3 chances to do it. One was an airball from beyond the arc that would've put the Clippers to their misery and send millions of fans cheering for him, the other one was a drive from the baseline off a Randle rebound which clunked out off the rim and into Randle's hand once again, and the last one was in the left wing where the shot was blocked by Jordan Hamilton.

X-Factor/s: Jordan Hamilton and Mario Hezonja. They were invisible, a no-show, for the first half of the game but made it up to their team in the fourth quarter. The Lakers were leading by 12 points with 6 minutes remaining and these two sharpshooters fired a barrage of three-pointers. Hamilton had 4 threes and Hezonja had 5, 3 and 2 of those were in the 4th quarter respectively.

That was... unacceptable: The Lakers' strategies at the end of the game didn't work for them.... at all. They were 0 of 5 in the last minute of the game and all of those shot, if it went in, would've won the game for them. The Lakers clearly need to change up their plans or better yet.... change their coach for the better of the team..

Yeah, I was hoping they would co-exist with each other on the floor. Turnovers were a big problem for them late in the fourth which led to their lead disappearing before their eyes.

Recap | Box Score | Highlights Image

MVP: Russel Westbrook. He finished with a triple-double and the shot that stung the Lakers in OT. He had 47 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists tonight.

LVP: Anthony Davis. He sucked so bad in this game as he only had 8 points in 3 of 10 shooting. It was rumored that he had flu-like symptoms before the game started but he waived it off in the Post-game Press Conference, saying that he shouldn’t make any excuses on how bad he played tonight.

X-Factor/s: Kevin Durant. Of course. The Co-MVP tonight is the Slim Reaper whose impeccable defense limited The Brow to only 8 points the entire game. He himself scored 32 points while pulling down 8 rebounds.

Re: Chapter 1: Rebuilding A Dynasty [Los Angeles Lakers] <END>

Wed Dec 16, 2015 12:15 am

Just had an idea. What if I just transfer this to my 2k16 copy? I've actually been working on the roster for hours now but there's a slight problem. New save means the awards and the career-highs from the last 2 seasons didn't come through BUT it's okay.

My roster in 2k16 right now is composed of the pre-Free Agency part of the Association so I haven't signed Davis and Antetokounmpo etc. but I will try my best to re-sign them.

I'm going to let Andrew lock this thread and make another one. Think of this thread as "Chapter 1" where the rebuilding attempt #1 happened and we proceed to the new thread which is called "Chapter 2: Beginning a Dynasty".

Re: Chapter 1: Rebuilding A Dynasty [Los Angeles Lakers] <END>

Wed Dec 16, 2015 3:29 am

It was inevitable. The salary cap in 2k14 just doesn't hold up.
This was a great story for 2k14. The last portion of this story can be considered a possible foreshadowing of things to come.

Good luck in the future.
