That's a lot of players for Rondo... so what's left of the Mavs' bench? Barea?

Jae Crowder had some decent potential, it's too bad they had to give him up. I get it, though.
Brandan Wright is extremely limited, without him eating Greg Smith's minutes, you may see what Smith is capable of.
Jameer Nelson is in a slightly better situation. In Boston, he can mentor the young guards (Smart, Young, Pressey) and step in when necessary, assuming they don't waive him.

Dallas was the best offensive team in the league, so I'm not convinced adding a PG who can't shoot, and taking away an uber-efficient backup big will make it any better. Greg Smith has put up similar numbers, but in garbage time scenarios. Signing Emeka Okafor or Jermaine O'Neal would be huge - Ray Allen might put them over the top. Still, fit is a concern, as neither Ellis or Rondo are good 3 point shooters, and both need the ball in their hands a lot.

There starting 5 looks incredible on paper, but it'll take some great coaching (which we can count on from Carlisle) and for the players to stay healthy for this team to be a legit contender.
