The Top 5 three-point shooters in today's ratings drop:
http://www.easports.com/nba-live/news/2 ... er-ratings- Kyle Korver (95)
- Stephen Curry (94)
- Klay Thompson (92)
- Kevin Durant (91)
- Jose Calderon (91)

Is this a realistic rating true to life or just a generic one ?
What I'm saying is just because Korver is rated a 95 at 3's doesn't mean he should shoot that in a variety of ways. I shouldn't be able to do multiple crossovers with Korver and pop a 3 and have it go in because it's a 95 rating.
So are there separate sliders for off the dribble shot and catch and shoot ?? I know Live doesn't offer sliders for us so we can't edit anything, but do they at least have a proper slider system in place at all ??

Players also have tendencies and other such data which is driven by Synergy Sports, with these ratings more or less serving as modifiers. At least, that's how it was explained last year.

Kyle Korver is one of the best 3 point shooters of all time. I don't know how you can accurately depict in game how much better of a 3 point shooter he is than everyone else.
I don't like how Klay is up there. I feel that he's up there based on volume, reputation, and association w/ Curry

That Korver rating, though. I think it's a bit high but eh.

95 seems reasonable to me, given his proficiency.

Something to remember with 3pt shooting.
There are other modifiers that are involved, such as off the dribble and if they're guarded.
So pulling up and draining 3s in the face of contested defense isn't really going to be super successful with Korver and Calderon.

Do you guys have data on contested vs uncontested shots, layups, jumpers, 3pt shots, etc.?? Just curious. If so, that'd be awesome. If the aforementioned data drove the ratings.

Yup. That's provided by synergy.
And I use that data to help produce the ratings, (off the dribble and guarded shot ratings)
So, even if Korver is the highest rated 3pt. You have to get him the right shot for him to be the most effective.

It's nice to know that some of these ratings are data-driven and aren't simply a matter of one person's opinion
