McGrady in the clutch, lifts Grizzlies over SAS in a crucial Game 5 win.

T-Mac hit the J over Brent Barry with 6.5 seconds left to give the Grizzlies a 4-point lead. Going into the final possession, Bruce Bowen turned the ball over attempting a pass to Ginobili who was wide open. Tracy was the leading scorer with 22 points; Vince Carter added 19. Tony Parker noted 20 points and 6 assists for the Spurs. Duncan was a top priority player to defend -- Wright & Swift have limited him to just 15 points.

Grizzlies victorious in a thriller; Carter wins the game with a buzzer beater 3!

Image

The Grizzlies played an absolutely horrible first half and have never led in the game until 31.5 seconds left in the 4th quarter. T-Mac (29 points) carried the offense for the most part, keeping the team alive. Come clutch time, after using a final timeout, Carter was given the ball. The designed play turned out to be a disaster, however, Vince's shot through the hands of much taller Stojakovic SOMEHOW went in.

Sacramento had 6 players scoring in double digits. But the luck was on our side, tonight.

Maybe not everything went down as I planned.
Maybe my presentation lacked additional elements.
Maybe not every screenshot I took looked decent enough.

But the nostalgia and enjoyement towards this game is something I cannot put in words.
The way the simulation works, you're never sure about anything.
Every close game, I still get chills.

One day, the Trophy will land in the city of Memphis.

I loved every single screenshot you took, and the presentation of each game. Your season also shows how classic a game Live 05 is.

One of the great seasons in franchise history has come to an end. After a slow start back in 2004 the Grizzlies lived up to expectations, advancing to the Western Conference Finals. With new challenges up ahead, it's time to get even better and address flaws that were often exploited by the team's fiercest rivals.
----
Lorenzen Wright and Stromile Swift are the defensive workhorses of this team. Both are great at rebounding and contesting shots, but they also have no problems with inside scoring or hitting a bunny or a jumper from time to time. Swift becomes a restricted free agent this summer, although he is likely to stay in Memphis.

Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter are the faces of this franchise. The best offensive duo in the league, hands down. Carried the team deep into the Playoffs with their ridiculous amount of talent. Totally worth any money; will remain with the Grizzlies for years to come.

Jason Williams has been highly criticized by the media for his poor performance against Mike Bibby and the Sacramento Kings in WCF. Williams is a great player to have in the regular season and in the Playoffs to some extent; however, he is a non-factor on defense and it gets even worse if the opposing point guard is a prolific scorer.

Chris Wilcox may be a great rebounder but he's a poor shotblocker. Paired with with a stretch-4 power forward, Wilcox could not contest many shots and would often get in foul trouble. May be subject to trade.

Brian Cardinal is the guy you want to run your second unit offence through. Cardinal has a great touch and can shoot three pointers on a decent percentage. Plays smart basketball, can also rebound and pass the ball well; a valuable player to come off the bench.

James Posey is an ultimate role player that every team in the league would love to have on their roster. Posey became the 6th man for the Grizzlies team, although he was also decent as a starter when VC got injured. Good defender but a very streaky shooter.

Andre Emmett, a free agent rookie, was given a change to play in Memphis; the team is likely to continue with his development. Emmett may one day become a great perimeter defender, a mini-Marion or Desmond Mason type of player. Our youngster gained an inch and is now listed as 6' 6" small forward.

Dajuan Wagner can definitely shoot the rock. He has significantly improved his passing and adapted to a backup point guard role really well. Wagner does not force his shots unlike most combo guards and feels flow of the game. Great addition to the team.

Monty Williams and Kenny Anderson were the vets brought in to share their NBA experience with younger teammates. Their impact on the court was not significant, however, Williams himself was helpful in the campaign against the San Antonio Spurs. Anderson, on the other hand, haven't seen much playing time.

Cheeroke Parks and Reece Gaines were not much of an use; served as a deep bench warmer backup unit in case something really bad happens.

With the #25 pick in the 2005 NBA Draft the Memphis Grizzlies select Jonathon Numminen.
Born in Sweden and raised in the U.S., Numminen is an athletic 6' 10" power forward that has played a couple years of college basketball.
Comes with a nice jumpshot but desperately needs to work on his free throws. May need to gain a bit of muscle.

With the #55 pick in the 2005 NBA Draft the Memphis Grizzlies select Chiyo Chen.
Chen is a 7' 0" big man with experience of several years of professional basketball in China.
Strong for his size, but his skillset remains a mystery.

MEMPHIS -- The Grizzlies have landed Jason Kidd in a blockbuster trade rumored way back in January.
In addition to the so-called Big 3, Memphis added some key pieces; namely DeSagana Diop, one of the best shotblockers in the league, as well as sharpshooter Fred Hoiberg. Surrounded by young talent and veteran experience, the Superstar trio looks forward to having another great season.

The Grizzlies kicked off agressively from the very start with Carter and McGrady sharing a fair slice of scoring opportunities (finishing with 27 & 24 points, respectively).
Jason Kidd noted 12 points in his debut but also had a chance to showcase his defensive abilities as the Lakers would often switch Bryant on Kidd.
Kobe couldn't do everything on his own, yet was quite impressive with his performance of 23/4/4/2.

MEMPHIS -- Despite minor injuries (Tracy McGrady dealing with back spasms, Jason Kidd with a bruised rib; both playing limited minutes) the Grizzlies have played neat basketball to start off the 2005/06 campaign. When it comes to new additions to the team, everything clicked just fine but we are yet to see the true potential of this roster. Stay tuned.

It's time to definitely end this dynasty -- I no longer have the save files. If anyone's interested in a different, more realistic scenario using Live 2005 (could be with updated rosters) let me know. Other than that, feel free to lock it.
