I was talking about how much space code takes up compared to the game's art.

Yall don't need similar skin textures of slightly different skin tones. All you need is a gray scale texture and an RGB or HSL color mix attached to a slider. It's bball 2015. Time to improve over the standard 5 skin tones. Especially since the code for this would take less space.

Yup, this should absolutely be standard by now.

It's been standard in WWE games for 10 years, I don't get why sports games feel the need to restrict customization like this.

WWE games are the same since smackdown vs raw 2008 (yeah I exaggerates a little). Hope that 2K will do some news for the next, or the one after (and can't even hope of a PC version) :)

It should be Saint's Row personalisation, if I want a green player, I get one

Not really. Last year, we knew that we were getting a 360/PS3 port, owing to the price tag and the release date.

Prices are irrelevant. Amazon for example lists the PC Version for 29.99€ and I guess some other Stores have it at 59.99 right now. Its the same with Release-Dates, Stores just guess it to have something to put up.
All this talk about size of the Game is just stupid, it doesn't mean shit! There are Games that are just not/very bad compressed (Titanfall for example is 50GB because they did not fucking compress their Audio).

PC Versions are mostly made for EU/China, because most Americans play on Peasantboxes I guess while the rest of the World plays more on PCs. Thats why there are no Madden/Baseball/Ice-Hocker or Wrestling Games on PC.
The mahor point why 2K would port the PS4 Version is: Its probably even easier to port from PS4/Xboner to PC than from XBOX360, because the new Consoles are basically Low-End PCs. So I doubt it will cost much more to a PS4 Port, depends on what 2K China is able to do with it.

The release date was confirmed fairly early last year, first for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, then PlayStation 4 and Xbox One after the launch date of those consoles was revealed. There really was no ambiguity as to whether or not the PC version would be next gen; it was clear for a while before the game came out. Some people opted to hold out hope in the face of overwhelming evidence that it wasn't going to be a next gen port, then were disappointed and angry that 2K didn't deliver something that they never promised in the first place.

This year, we have a bit more ambiguity.

Developers always share news with us when they have something good, if they're not, if they're waiting, we can be pretty sure that it will be same old 2k13.

Developers only share news when marketing says they can.

Or that marketing has a specific plan for the next two months that has historically provided the game with a lot of hype and exposure on Twitter and other social media.

Either way, its all speculation at this point. I'll just stick to my "odd years are great years for 2K" and "hopefully this year breaks the even year curse" until we get actual information.
Opinions are my own.

2k has always been like this. They wait to see what EA is bringing to the table, then give out little pillows to cushion our jaws when they drop while viewing the trailers.

Does anybody know how long they have before the release date to work on the game? Basically how many days before the release date do they have to turn in the final build? I'm guessing a week or two?

Leftos maybe you can answer this question?

I believe it's about a month for getting ratings and ms/sony approval plus some time (week?) to get physical copies ready and shipped.

Meanwhile devs start with bug fixing and rebalancing, because day one patches are pretty much usual now (and that isn't necessarily a bad thing).

What's up:) I have good info for all;) I'm from Poland and I also follow this forum for known cause;) Yesterday on our polish computer site

http://www.benchmark.pl/

they wrote article about their visit on 2K Games presentation:

http://www.benchmark.pl/testy_i_recenzj ... games.html

where on subtitle NBA 2K15 they wrote (in english it will be something like that): "PC version of NBA 2K15 will be now identical like on consols" so I asked on comments author of this article "Where can I find confirmation of this info to have a sureness that the NBA 2K15 on PC is on new engine like version on XO/PS4, beacuase in this way I understand this info" and he answerd me, that my understanding is good and this info is from 2K agent and was given on official game show for press, where he was;)
(You can see this at the bottom of bellow link / my nick is the same like here / but it is in polish language;) )

The translation sais the pc version is identical to the console, but which one? Do they mean a fully featured last gen or current gen?

Here translation of comments under article by basket4rap with article author.
Basket4rap: Where can I find confirmation of the information and to make sure that the version of NBA 2K15 actually on the PC version will be the "next-gen" and not a port of X360/PS3? Because I understand that the author in this sentence "Even so, the PCs 2K15 version is now identical to the release of the console ..." was just about the fact that the PC version this year will be such as to XO/PS4;>
@ Basket4rap:
This information comes from one of the representatives of 2K Games and was transferred to the official demonstration game for the press, for which I had the pleasure to host. And yes - the PC version will be exactly as on the PS4 and XO :D
