Whoa, at last, pringles is gone. I have hated him since he was in PHX. It would be quite strange for a coach to stay on a team after the team delivers one of its worst season output.

I know Byron Scott has a history with the Lakers, but he has not performed well as of late. One name still intrigues me though is Avery Johnson, but it seems no one is looking his way.

Byron Scott is a terrible coach. Jason Kidd and Chris Paul carried his ass while Kyrie Irving was injured too much to even carry Scott.

Avery Johnson is also terrible, he can't adjust, just look at what he did when he was coach of the Nets. With the Mavs he only added defense to the team that already had Don Nelson's offense in place, then Nelson broke down his own offense and molested Johnson and the Mavs who had the best record in the league out of the first round.

One of the nice surprises for me in coaching this season was Brad Stevens. Everybody thought it was a tanking move but the Celtics overachieved in the early season. Then the management pressed the panic button and traded away Jordan Crawford. I think this was a nice find for the Celtics and it will pay off for them for years to come. Perhaps the Lakers can do the same...

I agree on Stevens. Biggest surprise for me was still what Hornacek did in PHX.
The article above mentioned Calipari. I really don't think he'll return to the NBA especially not to coach a team like the Lakers in their current state.

So basically, the Lakers are looking to interview the whole league, including some NCAA coaches for the job. Better start now.

I hope they get Scott. They deserve each other.

I have no idea who the Lakers will hire as their next Head Coach but right now, I am more interested on who we will select in the Draft.

I wouldn't mind Marcus Smart. :)

I'll go for Embiid :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

I'm happy with the Randle pick and quite intrigued by the signing of DeAndre Kane, he's a bit on the older side for a rookie but I'm rooting for him to make the roster past the summer league.

I think Monroe (surprise) and Lowry should be targeted in FA. Taking a run at Parsons/Ariza isn't a bad idea either.

I really, really hope they sign Moose.

Really weirded out because of the Randle pick. If only Smart didnt get picked by the Celtics, which is acutally really fucked up too.

I have a feeling that he'll get a max contract though. If not, will be very close almost certainly. At least it won't be anything extremely ridiculous since he's been in the league for not too long.

then....then...we can get Drummond... Randle for Drummond!

I'd rather develop Randle than getting Drummond. Drummond can't shoot free throws for crying out loud.

Re: Lakers Thread

I think the Randle pick is fine for what was left. Wasn't sold on Smart after hearing/reading he's not really a PG and can't shoot. I'm hoping Kane can do something with the chance he's given.

Detroit will indeed probably match but lets see at what price. I'd say 10-14 (max) for Monroe but I'm sure he'll get more. I mean if Hibbert can get 15-16...
I still don't understand their signing of Smith last year.

You'd be nuts not to want Drummond, shoddy free-throws or not.

People who don't want Drummond probably don't want a young Shaq or Dwight Howard either just because they can't shoot FTs, so basically those people are retards.

Man, fuck Dwight Howard. I hope that bitch never wins a ring.

Re: Lakers Thread

I like Drummond as a player but I'd rather like it more if the Lakers develop Randle first. It will be hard for them if Randle develops into a great player. I'd rather get Drummond in free-agency.

dont worry, he wont

Re: Lakers Thread

To think about it, this year's draft kinda reminds me of 1997 where Joel Embiid's a Tim Duncan and Randle is a Tim Thomas. Hype wise.

Re: Lakers Thread

Healthy Timmy left Wake Forest after his Senior year while cripple Embiid bolted towards the NBA after his Freshman year. Nuff said...

There's another big fish the Lakers are interested in according to @Chris_Broussard: Chris Bosh.

One two punch: Kobe and Bosh

Nice?
