2K11 Blacktop Court
One of my favorite features of the tool is being able to take parts from one iff file, and put them into another. So once I got the beta I immediately grabbed the hidden 2K11 Blacktop Court from NBA 2K12 (2k11-2k9 iff files are not going to be support at first), extracted the backboard, crowd positions, and arena parts, and imported them over a Rucker Park file from 2K14. Worked like a charm. Yes, it is missing the helicopter with that spotlight and the cars flashing their lights, but the trash can fire animates and the court pavement reflections from the car lights work.
HD Cyberfaces
Of course, the most used feature will be importing in HD textures. Since NBA 2K9 used 1024x1024 textures for faces, I grabbed a CP3 face from HellBoy - viewtopic.php?f=94&t=64756 - and imported into the game. I didn't touch up or update the green texture or make a new alpha channel, but 1024 and larger textures will work.
Beards and Other Textures Too
I don't do CFs. I did take Harden's hair & beard texture and make it 1024x1024 instead of 256x256. I just sharpened the texture a bit, but I'm sure you CF guys will be able to surpass the PS4 Harden soon enough.
Uniforms
Uniforms can get HD'd as well, here is tha_King's (I think at least, sorry if I missed who actually made it) Celtics Uniform
And here is a 2x Resolution 2048x1024 texture for comparison (I dont make uniforms either)
That MyPLAYER Shirt
The Global file can be edited too, so HD accessories will be possible as well as eyes and whatever else is in there you'd like to edit. I just went for that shirt they stick on your MyPLAYER and changed it from 256x256 to 2048x2048 (I didnt account for the stretching at all).
Adding Crowds
I know the High School mod people will like this, but since we can move arenas from one file to another, I imported the practice gym and baskets over Rucker Park (because I have my custom floor crowd file previously made for Rucker and Midnight Ballers). I could have also taken the crowddata and crowdlighting files from Rucker and imported them into the practice file, and that should have worked too.
Other Things to Move
You can also move other parts from one arena to another. So here I took the tables from the 60s Celtics arena and overwrote the sideline dornas in the modern court. A basket modder might find it helpful to only do 1 basket with a modded rim or video ad, then import it into the other arenas without needing to care about different model sizes, and simply reskin as they need to.
Frankenstein It All
And probably the most "Jao" thing I've done is import the Rooftop court inside a stadium. I replaced the dornas with the entire Blacktop arena. Yep. And the baskets too, which I didn't need to do if I didn't want to.
Just wanted to give you guys a preview before Vlad releases it, so you guys can make HD textures, plan mods, or whatever you want. Hope you guys think this is as awesome as I do!
All I can say is WOW. I'm completely blown away with this and I sure can't wait to test it out! Pretty awesome thing you did there with the blacktop court btw Jao
