I disagree, he still cares a lot about his family, even though everybody hates him now. He accepted his fate and called off the hit so Hank wouldn't get hurt. When that didn't work he tried to give up all his money to save Hank.
When he talked with Skyler on the phone he made it sound like she didn't work with him at all, so the police would shift their attention completely on him and make her look as clean as possible.
He still cares. But they are all so involved.
