Have to give credit where its due, they've been very good about giving us doubleheaders lately and the games have turned out to be pretty good ones to boot. Their coverage has certainly left something to be desired at times, but recently it's been very good in my opinion.

Can't say I'm impressed with the first week of playoff coverage. The channel that spammed the fuck out of Bogut for no reason when he was playing on a completely boring team in completely irrelevant games then refuses to show any of his games in what will likely be one of the best first-round playoff matches? Who's running this?

No Clips-Griz either, and we're stuck with two Knicks-Celtics games (yawn)* and a Spurs-Lakers game (yawn). And even the Bulls-Nets game was over by half time.

*I'm writing this before I sit down to watch this morning's game, so this may sound stupid in hindsight, but even if it does you don't schedule the games after they're played, you schedule them before they're played, so it's still valid.

With only 2-3 games per week during the first two rounds, their coverage does leave something to be desired, especially when it involves decisions like that. At least we get both Conference Finals series, I'll give them that.

At this point I'd just be happy to see something resembling a basketball game. Surely that's not too much to ask?

Game 4 of Bulls/Nets might've qualified. If they pick up any Nuggets/Warriors games, that'd be fantastic.

Looks like we've got both Conference Finals series again this year.

A great draw of the Australian NBA site will be that it will be video heavy & will show 1 FREE live NBA game per week. It is understood that the game will be one of the TNT Thursday Night games.

The website will reportedly be managed by Perform Media & is scheduled to launch on the 10th October.

Perform are the people behind NBL.TV.

Missed this back in February:

Good news, that'd be why we got so many doubleheaders. Sounds like that's going to continue this season.

Went with NBA League Pass this year for first time. Since don't have Foxtel (too expensive since I don't watch TV) & didn't pick up 2K14, thought I'd give it a go this year. I'm usually at work when games are on so can watch at night when the stars align. Found a website that is spoiler free & gives game ratings so will try to watch more competitive games since I don't have a favourite team (sadly).

I hope they're not giving Philly the Milwaukee treatment due to Brett Brown. At least with Milwaukee you actually got to see Bogut play, you can't really watch someone coach. Ended up alright today (to say the least), but a season full of Philly games will get old, fast.

Agreed. Since they're doing three games a week, I wouldn't mind the rare one for the sake of variety and to see Michael Carter-Williams play, but we definitely don't need to see them get the Bogut treatment. Fortunately it did work out quite well today, as you noted.

I'll watch any team once or twice, yeah. More if there's some reason to be interested, which Brown is, but anything more than once a month or so is going to need some very good matchup selection or it'll get tedious.

Oddly, despite the fact that I watch every game in the NBL, which only has eight teams, it doesn't suffer the same way (for me, obviously; others will differ). I guess there's less of an aspect of missing out on other matchups in that case, though.

I suppose there's less of a choice to begin with, so it's just the way it goes. The shorter season and having a hometown team in the competition might have something to do with it as well.

Looks like it's just two games a week for the next couple of weeks, at least according to the online guide.

No NBL this Saturday either, and the Wildcats have a bye. Shocker of a weekend all round.

Are we getting the ESPN US game on Saturday, and is that part of a double-header?

According to the online guide, we're getting the second half of the NBA Wednesday doubleheader on Thursday, Mavericks vs Thunder (not the Bulls game, which would've been the better matchup in my opinion but then I'm not unbiased there) and then Warriors vs Spurs on Saturday (which should hopefully be a good one).

I know which games we're getting, I was just wondering whether they've dropped half of the double-header on Saturday or whether they're running a different game to what the US version of ESPN is (as they did with the Philly game to open the season). Or whether for whatever reason the US isn't getting an ESPN double-header either.

Saturday's the only day we've had double-headers in the past (other than special occasions such as Christmas, opening day, etc) isn't it?

Random thought: Could this be the first time 3 first overall picks (who were selected by the same team) play in the same game? LeBron, Kyrie, Bennett.

I just checked and surprisingly, it isn't. Hakeem Olajuwon, Ralph Sampson and John Lucas, all number one picks of the Rockets, played together in Houston from 1984-1986. The Dream and Sampson were of course back-to-back number one picks in 1983 and 1984, Lucas was taken first overall in 1976, returning to Houston in 1984 after stints with the Warriors, Bullets, Spurs and Lancaster Lightning of the CBA.
