Yeah, it was pretty bad. "Guys, not all Muslims are terrorists...except these guys!"

Not sure if 12 Angry Men is as popular over there as it is in America, but this episode was a pretty bad rendition of it. I understand they are trying to pay homage to it, but it just wasn't that funny.

I like when they do parodies, but they have to do it the right way. Like the Star Wars parodies. Those were great. This one wasn't funny. Except for Adam We.

Here is how real comedy takes on 12 Angry men.

Problem was putting Brian in the Fonda role.

Awesome burn on JFK.

I'm starting to think all you do is dick around.

And the REAL WAY TO DO IT IS HOW KING OF THE HILL DID IT. I DIDN'T DROWN THAT BOY.

PUMP JOCKEY.

WORKS FOR TIPS.

I'm not familiar with it, but I thought the episode was alright nevertheless. As is often the case these days, a couple of their lazier attempts at controversial humour fell flat, but overall it was much better than the previous couple of episodes for me.

The intro was pretty cool with King of the Hill & the American Dad meetup. Good to see Hank Hill on TV again.

When has The Simpsons ever been limited to Fox properties?

Agreed. The episode itself wasn't much to write home about, nothing spectacularly bad like a few eps have been this season, but still kind of phoned in.

Latest episode was quite a good one, I thought. Pretty funny throughout, surprisingly good storytelling for Family Guy; not quite on par with the earlier seasons of course, but way better than some of the garbage that's comprised this season. They avoided pretty much everything that so often brings the show down these days, so it was a nice change of pace.

Yeah, Stewie and Brian adventures are usually pretty good. The "Peter gets sick" B plot was kind of stupid.

Loved the ending though. "Mom, Stewie's dead."

I actually thought Peter's story was more the A plot, it felt like it was getting the most screen time. It wasn't anything special, but I thought it was alright.

So, we have another change to the status quo with Horace being killed and Jerome taking over the Clam. I've got to give Family Guy some credit there, they are more willing to change things up with their continuity compared to some other shows. At the same time though, it seems kind of pointless as he was a very minor character that rarely had any lines, even in scenes at the Clam, so it was kind of lacking in imagination. There were a couple of funny moments here and there, but as is often the case there were too many long winded and meandering jokes and cutaways that lacked a good punchline.

That one was definitely a bolder move as she was a more prominent character. All the same, I get the feeling they're running out of ideas and ways to use certain characters, so they're killing two birds with one stone by killing people off.

"Farmer Guy" was another one of those episodes that isn't downright abysmal, but I can't think of a line or joke that was particularly funny or memorable, nor a cutaway that really worked. Plot and pacing was about average for a recent Family Guy episode. Another one that was pretty forgettable overall.

The last 2 episodes were pretty good. Vegas one another Brian - Stewie adventure with sci-fi mixed in. Second one wasn't bad either. Liked the REM reference.

I thought they were both decent. I liked the way they resolved the paradox at the end of "Roads to Vegas" and there were some funny moments throughout, though it started off pretty slow with an unfunny cutaway 20 seconds into the episode. I was a little surprised that there wasn't a big musical number given the location, Seth MacFarlane's passion for the Rat Pack sound and his singing chops, but at the same time the episode did fine without one. "No Country Club for Old Men" wasn't bad either. The ending was predictable and last minute, but the humour made up for it.

Looking back on it, Season 11 was a pretty disappointing season. There was that string of four or five episodes that I felt were just awful and had me wondering if it is actually worth checking out new episodes every week. If nothing else, it feels like they're going through the motions with shoddy plots (even by their standards), cutaways that are too often too long without a satisfying punchline, uninspired attempts at edgy/controversial humour and continued potshots at shows that are way better than their current product. In short, a lot of their worst traits have been prominent throughout the season. It's disappointing because the show can still be very funny and entertaining when it's "on" but when it's misfiring, it's painful. I feel they were off way more than they were on in Season 11.

Family Guy and Simpsons will have a "crossover" episode in fall 2014.

Two shows used to have a rivalry ("Plagarismo" "Plagarismo de plagiarismo") but it's nice to see them reconcile. I still remember Homer appearing on Family Guy. "Looks like this is one we beat you to."

Interesting. With Seth MacFarlane's guest appearance on The Simpsons last season and Dan Castellaneta's guest appearance as Homer in the episode you mentioned, it seems like the rivalry has been put to rest, which is for the best in my opinion. I don't expect it to be The Greatest Thing Ever, but hopefully it's a fun episode all the same.
