They're solid. I expect them to make the playoffs this season. They also got the #1 pick which can make them a little bit deeper.

Warriors open season with come from behind win

Image
Curry getting ready to shoot a very open jumper

The Warriors did not get the start that they wanted. The Warriors started the game cold, shooting 0-5 from the field. The Warriors found themselves down by 9 midway through the 1st quarter and they played catch up until the start of the 2nd half. The 1st half finished 61-53.

But the Warriors found new life in the 2nd half. They clamped down on defense and started shooting the ball better.

"We played terribly in the 1st half. Our shooting did not go down the way we wanted it and I think it affected our defense." Said Coach Mark Jackson.

"I just told them to think of defense first before offense. And I think that worked out. We limited them to I think 36 points in the second half."

The Suns only scored 18 points in each of the last two quarters and they shot under 40% after the 1st half.

The Warriors will next visit the defending champions Oklahoma City Thunder in a Western Conference Finals rematch.

Cameron Bell, my 1st round pick, is the primary back up for David Lee. He is playing well. Not producing much, but I get what I need from him.

Warriors blow out Thunder in Western Conference Finals Rematch

Image
Curry celebrating win the big win

The Warriors played the game with a vegeance. And the Thunder are not ready for that. The Warriors came in ready for Durant and Westbrook, as they had Tony Allen start in place of Klay Thompson. Harrison Barnes, who defended Westbrook most of the time, and Tony Allen, who defended Durant, were successful in containing them. Kevin Durant, who scored 30 pts in their opening game, scored 22 in this game on 10-23 FG. Westbrook only scored 14 points on 4-15 shooting.

Kevin Martin was the lone bright spot for the Thunder, scoring 22pts on 7-13 shooting. But his contributions were not enough for them to get the win.

On the other hand, the Warriors shot incedibly. Led by the superb shooting of Steph Curry, who scored 34points in 14-19 shooting. Klay Thompson scored 25 points off the bench and David Lee scored 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.

The Warriors will next face the San Antonio Spurs.

Spurs use strong 2nd half to win over Warriors

Image
Manu with a reverse layup

The Spurs capitalized on the turnovers of the Golden State Warriors to come from 10 down in the 1st half to beat the opposing team by 12.

The Warriors, who scored 53 points in the 1st half, was out of sync in the 2nd half, giving up a 12-3 run and turning the ball over 5 times in the 3rd.

It was worse in the fourth, as coach Mark Jackson opted to start the final quarter with his bench guys. The Spurs were just too much for the Warriors bench as they gave up another run and allowed the Spurs to score 36 points. Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson both struggled shooting from the field. While the Spurs had 5 players scoring in double digits led by Parker, who recorded a triple double.

"It was a total meltdown for us. The Spurs came out strong in the second and we were rattled. Gotta work on our composure from here on out." Said by David Lee, who scored 22 points in this game.

Blazers beat Warriors in OT

Image
Aldridge about to dunk it in

It was a game of runs. The Portland Trail Blazers opened the game with a scorching 15-4 run and shot 80% in that stretch. But the Warriors would bounce back.

They will open up the second quarter with a big run and they outscored the Blazers 34-20. The half ended with a score of 54-50 in favor of the Warriors.

The Blazers would rally again in the third as they will outscored the Warriors by 5 points and lead by 1 at the end of the quarter.

After exchanging runs, both team would exchange leads in the fourth until the the closing seconds.

The Warriors would have a 3-point lead in the last 1 minute of the game. With the ball in Lillard's hands, he would fire a pass to Batum, who was coming off a screen. He squares up, checks his feet, and fires a three. He would tie the game at 112. But the Warriors are not rattled, the perfectly executed a play to get David Lee in the post. He spun left, faked the shot, then went under Aldridge and banked the shot in.

With about 20 seconds left in the game. Lillard was at the top of the key. Aldridge set a screen for him. Lillard then fired a pass to the left wing to Batum. Then Batum quickly passed the ball to the rolling Aldridge for the dunk. The game was tied at 114 with 2.2 seconds left.

The Warriors called a timeout for the last play of regulation to hopefully win the game. The ball was passed to Steph Curry under the basket but he quickly surrounded by the Portland defense, he put the shot up to no avail. Curry was caught complaining that he was fouled in that play.

Fatigue set in for the Warriors as they gave up 8 quick points for the Trail Blazers in OT. They were not able to recover after that.

The Warriors fall to 2-2 and have their first losing streak since the 2011-2012 season. They did not lose twice in a row last season. While the Portland Trail Blazers climb to 2-1.

Warriors beat Grizzlies behind Curry's 28

Image

Steph Curry scored 28 points and dished 10 assists in a win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Warriors started the game out of sync. Steph Curry turned the ball over in their very first possession as his pass was intercepted by Mike Conley. The trend continued in the first as they gave the ball up a total of 5 times.

But the Warriors were still able to hang on as they trailed by only five points after the first.

The Warriors got their groove back as they started out the second strong. Harrison Barnes, who struggled with his shooting in the first, opened the quarter with back to back 3's.

The game would be tied after the second and third quarter.

And then Steph Curry happened. Having only scored 15 points in the first 3 quarters, Steph Curry would explode for 13 points in the final quarter including 2 threes.

The Grizzlies would have no answer for Steph as they beat them 109-101.

Clippers blow out Warriors in Western Semifinals Rematch

Image
One of Blake Griffin's many dunks

The Warriors and Clippers faced in the western semifinals last post-season. And the Warriors came out victorious.

Today, the Clippers got their revenge as they blow out the Warriors. The new-look Clippers which revamped their roster gave the Warriors a hard time.

"It was very different team. They're not the Clippers that we faced last season."

And true enough, the only players left from last year were Jamal Crawford and Blake Griffin. Chris Paul left for Detriot in the offseason.

But the Clippers are better than last season as they hold the number 1 spot in the Western Conference and they have players and a deep bench.

George Hill, the new PG of the Clippers, scored 19 points and dished 9 assists in this game. Gilbert Arenas, who is now finding success with the Clippers, scored 10 points off the bench.

But the man who just unstoppable for the Warriors was Blake Griffin. He scored 31 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked 3 shots.

Blake dunked more times than the Warriors made threes in this game.

"We tried everything. We fronted the post, we doubled when he got it, we even triple teamed him one time. But he still dunked on our faces" Said Coach Mark Jackson.

The Warriors fall once again to 500 while the Clippers climb to 4-1.

THE ORACLE NEWS

Warriors acquire Redick from Denver Nuggets

Image <-->ImageImage
The Golden State Warriors shipped their 2 shooting guards for 1 in a deal involving the Denver Nuggets. JJ Redick, who was reportedly complaining about the Nuggets, demanded a trade. JJ Redick was having a hard time blending in with the Denver Nuggets. He stated that he did not fit the system and was not given the playing time he was promised.

The Warriors however, have an overload in the 2-spot and wanted to free up some roster space. The Warriors opted to trade both Doron Lamb and Brandon Rush as they were both struggling with the Warriors system.

Both players have expiring contracts that appealed for the Nuggets and accepted the deal right away. They sent JJ Redick and a 1st round pick for Doron Lamb and Brandon Rush

Kings fall to Warriors despite Thornton's 51

It was a duel nobody ever thought of happening. Early on, Marcus Thornton and Klay Thompson showed that they wanted to outshoot everybody else in the building.

Marcus Thornton scored 10 of his team's first 15 points. The Kings led mostly in the first because of a 12-3 run to start the game. But the Warriors would quickly comeback. Led by the sweet shooting of Klay Thompson, who scored 16 points in the first quarter alone.

Shooting for both players only became hotter. As they continued their scoring ways in the second. Marcus Thornton finished the first half with 30 points. While Thompson finished the first half with 26. But Klay had more help, as the whole team scored 38 points in that quarter alone as opposed to the King's 25.

Both teams would exchange baskets in the third. Both teams scored 34 points.

Shooting for the two streaking players would not top until the final buzzer. The game was long over midway through the fourth and Klay Thompson had already scored a career high 41 points. He would sit on the bench after the 5minute mark.

But Thornton would still score. He just kept shooting and shooting until the buzzer sounded. He finished with 51 points.

The game may not be as close as the Kings wanted it to be. But they never quit on the shooting duel. That duel was more of a highlight than the game itself.
