Davis comes all over on the so-called Iblocka's face.

New Orleans, 16th November, 2012 - The Oklahoma City Thunder arrived in New Orleans with great hopes, having won 7 of their last 9 games. The Thunder are clearly led by their explosive duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, with each of the two being considered the MVP candidates this year. However, the defensive presence in New Orleans quickly shattered the Thunders dreams, as the Hornets finished the first half with a double-digit lead.

Once again, New Orleans phenom Eric Gordon shined, chipping in with 36 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, connecting on 15 of his 25 shot attempts. The ROY candidate Anthony Davis finished the game with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks, introducing himself to another known defensive anchor - Serge Ibaka, by stuffing a massive one-handed tomahawk down into his throat early in the first quarter. As per usual, the Hornets role players played a big role in the victory. The high-flying Terrence Williams ended the game with a solid all-around performance of 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists on 5-6 shooting. Robin Lopez scored 10 points and clawed 7 rebounds in 14 minutes of playing time off the bench.

Perhaps the key to the victory was shutting down Kevin Durant, who only managed to score 9 points in the game, shooting an abysmal 4-19 from the field. However, he managed to impact the game in many other ways, snatching 11 rebounds and 4 steals. The trigger-happy guard Russell Westbrook finished the game with 26 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. He appeared rather frustrated with how the team performed, as he was caught trading words with the coach and Kevin Durant in a rather heated manner. James Harden was perhaps the best performer for the Thunder, chipping in with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. OKC's rookie Perry Jones also appeared extremely serviceable in limited minutes, as he finished with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists in only 9 minutes of playing time. However, all that was clearly not enough to face the red hot Eric Gordon and company.

Durant was ice cold, so it's no surprise I managed to pull off the game, even more so as the players were really hitting their shots. Satisfying victory it is. Stay tuned!

Yep, it's a shame. I'll use it as an opportunity to look at possible chances of building the team, though.

Vasquez glaring up towards Robin Lopez in a rather careless manner, flattered about his attempt to encourage the team.

        Time for change.

The joy was clear in each and every winners face after the game against Indiana. The excitement and satisfaction was visible on everyone's face, but not on Grevis Vasquezes. The team walked into the locker rooms, cheering, bumping fists with each other, enjoying the moment after the big fourth quarter run to crush the Pacers on their own home court. As the team sat down in the locker room, ready to hit the showers, the lone Vasquez appeared somewhat troubled, despite finishing his career night with a 29-point game. The trade rumors were spreading all over and his loss of motivation to play for the Hornets was definitely clear to everyone with a slight of clue. A few minutes later, as the instant joy over the win had started to shrug off of the players, the news about Eric Gordon's injury arrived. He had been sent to an MRI to check on his
ankle. The positive atmosphere disappeared in a blink of an eye, as if the Venezuelan guards mood had infected others.

"It'll be fine, you saw the injury, he'll recover from it in like no time at all, no doubt!" said Robin Lopez, clearly trying to encourage his teammates as they appeared to have sunk deep in some emotional dark spot. "Plus, y'all seen how the Va-squeeze run things. What you got, like 40 points tonight? Beast unleashed!"

Vasquez showed little to no emotion as a response, briefly glancing up towards Robin's face as if he found his attitude somewhat goofy, rather than encouraging. He grabbed his towel and hit the showers before anyone else, leaving the rest of the team to glare at each others faces in a rather confused manner.

        Later that night...

The New Orleans Hornets General Manager, Dell Demps, was sitting comfortably in his office at the Hornets practice facility, holding his feet on the desk as he leaned back on the chair, browsing through the newest cover of Slam magazine. He had received multiple trade offers in the past few days, mainly centered around Greivis Vasquez, but definitely nothing that would appear intriguing enough to let go of the young and talented six-foot-six point guard. All of a sudden, the phone right next to his feet started to ring loudly. He continued reading for a good twenty seconds before reaching over to the phone to pick it up. It was the General Manager of the Washington Wizards, Ernie Grunfield. After the brief, friendly and polite catching up, Ernie got to the point. One that definitely appeared considerable, perhaps even got goosebumps on Dell's forearms.

"Anyway, Dell.. Players on both of our teams have expressed their displeasure in the last month. We've been looking at Greivis Vasquez here in Washington for a while now, and tonight's fantastic outing by him definitely made it even clearer that we do want him. Plus, we want to clear out any chemistry issues that we currently have here in Washington. Our offer would give you a chance to get another player that might turn into a superstar caliber player one day..."
