Iman Shumpert stars in Rising Stars Challenge
Box Score(SHAQ:CHUCK)
Team Stats

Off all the big name young guns in this game, it was Iman Shumpert who played the best.

Shumpert scored 22 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and dished out 9 assists for his team and they won the game, 118-102.

It was a blow-out early on, as team Shaq made a quick 12-1 run. Damian Lillard led the team in that run, as he scored 8 of the 12 points.

Team Chuck would inch closer with the help of Kyrie Irving. He was the only bright spot on that team as he scored 29 points. The second highest scorer was Barnes with only 12 points.

Three players from team Shaq scored more than 20. Damian Lillard, 23, Iman Shumppert, 22, and Chandler Parsons, 21.

East dominates West in All Star game
Box Score(EAST:WEST)
Team Stats

Carmelo Anthony won the all-star mvp for the 1st time in his career. He scored 29 points on 9-18 shooting to lead the East against the West, 112-91.

Anthony was the only player who scored more than 20 points in this game. He was followed by Russell Westbrook, who scored 18 points.

Only the East came out to play as they outplayed everybody from their Western counterparts. Aside from the pre-season and the NBA finals, this is the only time that the East gets to play with the West.

"We're definitely disappointed in what we showed tonight. The fans expected something entertaining and fun, but some players were just not up to it." Said Kobe Bryant, who appeared in his 15th straight all star game.

Lakers too much for Warriors
Box Score(GS:LAL)
Team Stats

People might start wondering how the Lakers are struggling this season the way they beat the Warriors. The Lakers went with a balanced attack to hand the Warriors their worst loss of the season, 122-90.

Pau Gasol led the Lakers with 19 points and 9 rebounds. They shot 48% from the field as opposed to the 39% of the Warriors. They also forced 19 turnovers while only giving up the ball 9 times.

"It's now or never. We win now or it's over for us. This conference is tight and more losses will hurt us later on." Said Pau Gasol

The Warriors found themselves down again after the half, but they kept their composure and kept the game close. Ricky Rubio had a stellar scoring night with 23 points on 7-16 shooting. But it was Warriors rookie Harrison Barnes who stole the show. He scored a career high 27 points to lead the Warriors to the win.

The Warriors once again benefited in a high scoring showdown. They have never lost a game when they score 100 or more points.

"We need to score to win. That's our game. As long as the shooters are on their game, we're gonna be fine." said coach Mark Jackson

Coach Jackson's statement in their last game holds true. The Clippers could not stop the Warriors from shooting the ball.

"They shot everywhere. Every angle, every corner, it always went in." said Clipper guard Chris Paul.

The Warriors scored a season high 131 points versus the 119 of the Clippers. Both teams barely played any defense as they just shot the ball from everywhere. The difference was most shots from the Warriors are 3's while for the Clippers it was dunks from Griffin.

"They score 2, we score 3. As long as that kept up, we know were gonna win" said Harrison Barnes who top scored the Warriors with 24 points.

Grizzlies destroy Warriors, 119-95

The Grizzlies outhustled, outrebounded, outscored the Warriors every single time down the floor. The Warriors did not do anything right, while the Grizzlies did everything right.

Memphis was ahead in every stat category against the Warriors except for blocks. But Memphis didnt need to block since every shot coming from the opponent was a brick.

The bench was a big boost for the Grizzlies as they scored 51 points out of the total 119.

The Warriors will play their last two games on the road against very winnable teams, the Hornets and the Nuggets. Both teams are out of contention for the playoffs.

Warriors clinch 2nd seed with win over Hornets, 93-85

Image
Landry shoots over the Hornets' non-existent defense

The Warriors, after being able to secure a playoff spot a few games ago after a long drought, was able to clinch home court advantage for the first two rounds of the playoffs.

The Warriors started the game strong after their humiliating defeat against the Grizzlies. They scored 27 points in the first quarter while limiting the Hornets to a season-low 12 points.

It looked like the Warriors were gonna blow the game wide open but the Hornets had other plans. Austin Rivers fueled a 2nd quarter comeback as he scored 12 of his 13 points in that quarter.

But the challenge proved to be harder for the Hornets as they failed to outscore the Warriors in the next two quarters.

This is the second win for the Warriors where they scored under 100 points.

"We had defensive adjustments after our loss. We need to play better defense to compete in the playoffs or we're going home early." Said Klay Thompson who played a great opening quarter in this game.

The Warriors are likely to rest some of its starters in their final game against Denver in preparation for the playoffs.

Nuggets beat Warriors in non-bearing game
Warriors 102 @ Nuggets 107

Kenneth Faried score a season high 25 points and 16 rebounds in their last game of the season. He also went 11-16 from the field and arguably played his best game of his career.

It was a back-and-forth game all through out. Both teams exchanged leads left and right and made the game look like it mattered.

The Nuggets took the first quarter with a 3 point lead but the Warriors would make a run in the second. They would lead after the half 58-52.

The Nuggets would then outscore the Warriors in the last two quarters.

The injury of the Andrew Bogut was a big blow for the Warriors as the Nuggets would punish the Warriors down low. They scored 20 more points from the paint.

Steph Curry scored 26 points for the Warriors.

Bogut suffered a season ending injury in a non-bearing game against the eliminated Denver Nuggets.

Bogut collided in the air with Danilo Gallinari in the third quarter and strained his achilles in the landing.

Coach Mark Jackson was supposed to rest his starters but changed his mind saying that "the players may become rusty come playoff time".

"It was a bad decision in my part. Andrew is a big part of our success in the regular season, and it is gonna be tough to be without him in the playoffs".

Andrew Bogut is averaging 7.0 points and 7.3 rebounds for the Warriors.

Carl Landry is expected to start in place of Andrew Bogut.

Klay Thompson had his way against the Rockets tonight

No Bogut? No problem. The Warriors relied on superb outside shooting to beat the Houston Rockets in the first round of the playoffs. Klay Thompson led the 3-point barrage with 29 points on 11-18 shooting. 7-10 came from downtown.

Curry shot 4-8 from beyond the arc. While Harrison Barnes was a perfect 4-4. All in all, the Warriors shot a season-best 18-27(66%) threes.

The Rockets also was not bad from the field, shooting 47% and 46% from beyond the arc. But the Warriors were just more unstoppable. Almost everyone shot from outside the paint even the big guys like David Lee.

The game saw 23 lead changes and 15 ties. It was as close as it can get.

The Rockets still missed the services of their star guard, James Harden, who was hurt with a sprained toe. He was also absent their regular season mathcup against the Warriors. Harden is averaging 21.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.

Harden's back court partner, Jeremy Lin, who also averages 21.1 points per game only scored 16 points but dished 11 assists.

Carlos Delfino topscored the Rockets with 28 points but needed 28 shots to do it.

The Warriors led for most of the game. But the Clippers would just not go away. The Warriors were up by as much as 13 points in the second quarter. But they would use a 12-2 run in the third to catch up and make the game close.

Kevin Durant celebrates their return to finals

The Oklahoma City Thunder eliminated the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. But unlike the Thunder's first two games, the Warriors did not go down without a fight.

The Warriors may not have led in this game, but they kept the game close and threatened the Thunder in the last moments of the game. Durant and Westbrook combined for 67 points in the game. Ibaka added 13 points and 16 rebounds.

The Warriors struggled in the boards as the got outrebounded 58-41. The Thunder grabbed 11 more offensive boards.

The Warriors still continued their shooting display, as they shot 15-32 from downtown. But they were not able to get the necessary stops in the end game. The Thunder have now won 17 straight and are two more straight games away from sweeping the season.

The Thunder, having the best record in the NBA, will have homecourt advantage against the Chicago Bulls in a best-of-3 series in the NBA finals.

Thunder take game 1 of 3 in NBA Finals

The Thunder winning streak are now up to 18 with the win over eastern conference champs Chicago Bulls. The Bulls were not much of a challenge to the Thunder as they lead in every quarter except for the 4th, which mostly is garbage time.

Defense was the key for the Thunder as they limited the Bulls to only 57 points after three quarters. The Thunder led by as much as 20 points in the game.

Derrick Rose scored 26 points on 9-23 shooting for the Bulls. Carlos Boozer added 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Kevin Durant continued his spectacular play scoring 33 points. He also had 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Kevin Martin added 24 points.

The Thunder are now heading to Chicago for game 2 and they can win it all there. The Bulls are now fighting for survival in their home floor.

The Thunder win streak is now halted to 18 games. The Bulls used a strong second quarter, scoring 37, to win game 2 and force a do-or-die game for the Larry O'brien trophy.

The Thunder shot only 42% from the field as opposed to Bulls' 51%. The Bulls also shot 5/7 from downtown while the Thunder shot 4/16.

It was a balanced attack from the Bulls as Carlos Boozer led them with 22pts. Derrick Rose added 19 pts. 11 of the 12 players from the Bulls was able to score at least 3 points.

Kevin Durant was on a slump in this game, scoring only 18 points on 6-18 shooting. He was also 1-9 from beyond the arc.

Thunder win NBA Championship, 105-102

It was a back and forth game. It was as close as it can get. It was thrilling, it was exciting. You can use every little phrase to describe this game.

Both teams gave it their all. They were diving, hustling, and sacrificing their body just to have possession of the basketball. But there can only be one NBA Champion, and for this year it was the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Kevin Durant recovered from his game 2 slump and scored 31 in game 3 on only 9-17 shooting. He also grabbed 13 rebounds. Kevin Martin added 21 points and Serge Ibaka added 14.

It was another balanced scoring from the Chicago Bulls as 11 players scored at least 2 points. Derrick Rose had an amazing game as he flirted with a triple double, 26 points 8 rebounds 8 assists. Rip Hamilton added 20 points. 5 players from the Bulls scored in double digits.

The game was down the wire as the game was tied at 102 with 30 secs remaining. The Thunder has possession and Westbrook has the ball. Durant used two screens to free himself up at the right wing. Westbrook gave him the ball. He squared up for the shot and let it fly.

Swish.

Durant made a 3-pointer from the right wing to give the Thunder a 105-102 lead with about 9 seconds remaining.

Marco Belinelli had the opportunity to tie the game but his 3-pointer rattled out as the game clock expired.

I actually didn't scout him. All the other players that I scouted got drafted before I could pick so I went with the mock draft. Good thing about him is he's a defensive anchor. So players get defensive boost whenever he's on the floor. :D
