hova- wrote:More losses. But it's getting closer. Nice games by Wall. Favors is great. I also would love to get him for my Mavs, but it's quite unrealistic since the Jazz rather would give away Kanter or Jefferson IRL, but they always resign Big Al in the game ...

Yeah it does seem like he would be the one out of the four that they would most want to keep. For the same reason that he is an attractive trade target. I'm looking for a good young big man but having trouble finding someone who I like, but that is also realistic to get.

Derrick Favors (Thought it might be slightly realistic given the depth they have. But he is probably the most valuable of the 4)
Greg Monroe (Doubt Pistons would trade him for anything)
Kenneth Faried (If I did that badreligionau would probably never read this again.)
Brook Lopez (Nets are 'win now' so draft picks wouldn't be worth anything to them)
Anthony Davis (Hornets just used a no.1 pick on him. Not going anywhere)
Roy Hibbert (Big contract and wasn't that impressed by him on my Live 10 game)
Kevin Love (Don't really have the right assets to trade for him)
JaVale McGee (Wizards only just got rid of him)
DeAndre Jordan (Same as Lopez really)
JJ Hickson, DeJuan Blair (Available as free agents next season, don't want to give anything up to get them)

Guess I'll just have to stick with Seraphin/Patterson/Dalembert/Martin for now. I could add some really good frontcourt talent in the off-season anyway I guess.

I got Larry Sanders, he's been beasting. Though he's not really the same caliber guy then those you mentioned. I'd get Favors now, cause he jumps to like 85-90 rating in 3 years.

Definitely a rough start, but you've definitely set it up to be challenging and it'll hopefully work out for you in the long run. Looks like you're having quarters where it's all clicking and you've got the hang of things, but lose your grip on the game in the next twelve minutes. Hope you can break the streak soon and string together a few wins, though the slow start has made it a somewhat unique story thread. ;)

I'm playing on All Star. I probably could decrease the level, but it's more realistic for this team to have it really challenging.

I was down 93-90 with 30 seconds left and the commentator said I needed to foul quickly. Which I did without thinking.
Obviously after that happened I realised how stupid it was. Why did he say that? Stupid game.
My 3pt shooting was good. Beal (6-10) and Cook (4-7) in particular were knocking them down. All I can do is take the positives and keep trying for that win.

Maybe you can tank this season and get dwight or CP3! And get a higher pick :)

Sounds like a good plan. But could CP3 and Wall play on the same team or would I have to trade Wall? Doubt he would want to be a backup.

Oh and tanking would mean that I'm losing on purpose. Wish I was good enough to have the choice of winning or not. :P

1/12/12

November 2012 Summary

ImageImageImageImageImage

With the season now well under way, a surprise leader has emerged in the east. The 76ers are a game clear of the Bulls, Heat and Celtics.
At the other end is Washington, who are yet to win their first game this season. They have gone an amazing fourteen games without a win.
It isn't all doom and gloom for the Wizards though. The form of John Wall and Bradley Beal has been really outstanding despite all the losses.
Rather strangely both Wall and Beal won eastern conference player of the month and eastern conference rookie of the month, respectively.
Beal is currently leading the field in the rookie of the year race. He's averaging 18/4/4 and has started every one of their fourteen games.
There has been bad injury news for some teams. Stars Andre Iguodala, Joakim Noah and Manu Ginobili will all miss the rest of the season.

3/12/12

Wizards increase the average age of their squad further with trade

Image

After a terrible 0-14 start to the season, Washington GM Steve Kerr has decided to make a move in an attempt to improve their defense.
He has agreed to send Martell Webster, Jan Vesely and two second round picks to Detroit for veterans Corey Maggette and Jason Maxiell.
It's a pretty low risk move given that Maggette is on an expiring contract, whilst Maxiell's wage will drop from $5m to $2m after this season.

Detroit are moving forward with a rebuild of their own based around a promising core of Greg Monroe, Andre Drummond and Brandon Knight.
Webster and Vesely now join a younger supporting cast that also includes Rodney Stuckey, Jonas Jerebko, Kyle Singler and Khris Middleton.
After their dominance of the east during the early-to-mid 2000's, including a championship, the Pistons haven't made the playoffs since 2009.
They will be hoping that Monroe can develop into a superstar center and guide them back to the heights that they enjoyed for so many seasons.

Washington are having an absolutely horrendous season so far. Maybe it's not suprising though given they decided to go into full rebuild mode.
Having their two promising youngsters shoulder all of the burden probably isn't helping their cause either. Leading a franchise isn't an easy task.
Maggette should give the Wizards another scoring option. Nearly all of the pressure to score has been on guards John Wall and Bradley Beal so far.
He was averaging 14 points per game with the Pistons. Maxiell's rebounding will come in handy too. He was grabbing 9 per game off the bench.

Image Image

Detroit receive
Martell Webster - 26 - SF - $1.60m - 1 year (69)
Jan Vesely - 22 - PF - $6.82m - 2 years (63)
Wizards 2013 2nd round pick
Wizards 2014 2nd round pick

Projected line-up:
Greg Monroe - Chalie Villanueva - Tayshaun Prince - Rodney Stuckey - Brandon Knight
Bench options:
Will Bynum, Jonas Jerebko, Andre Drummond, Jan Vesely, Martell Webster, Kyle Singler, Khris Middleton

Image Image

Washington receive
Corey Maggette - 33 - SF - $10.92m - 1 year (73)
Jason Maxiell - 29 - PF - $14.05m - 5 years (70)

Projected line-up:
Kevin Seraphin - Patrick Patterson - Corey Maggette - Bradley Beal - John Wall
Bench options:
Michael Redd, Beno Udrih, Samuel Dalembert, Donte Greene, Daequan Cook, Jason Maxiell, Kenyon Martin

Maggette had 14 points in the first quarter (5-7 fgm-a, 4-5 3ptm-a). Was probably the only positive in the game for me.
I pretty much gave up in the third quarter and just bombed threes. Hence the 50 point loss. I was just so annoyed because I was within 4-6 points for 95% of the second quarter before they stretched it to 10 at the half. And then as usual it became a 20+ point lead in the blink of an eye.
Only three more games to attempt to avoid the Nets losing streak record. :?

Sounds good. Although a part of me would feel guilty if I ended up with a top pick in the draft and then signed Dwight and CP3. Easiest rebuild ever?!

I was trying to emulate the Clippers' unbeaten month, but I think I was doing it wrong? It's nice that they got the awards, but it's not surprising that they have good numbers as no one else on my team is doing much of anything.

I was only down by 1 point with 2 minutes left in the third, but then they hit 5 threes in a row to end the quarter and it was pretty much game over.
Got the lead down to 8 with the first basket in the fourth, then the usual collapse happened.
