A prospect compared to KD. That's sick. Maybe you should go tanking ;)

To tank means losing the intention to get a good draft pick - in this case Warren Macy who is an upcoming star from what I read ;)

Re: (8-7) The Big Easy | Gordon Wants Out Of New Orleans

Postby mrmoves20 on Thu Jan 03, 2013 11:27 am

RUMOR: Gordon wants out of New Orleans

Hornets G Eric Gordon has reportedly asked for a trade. Gordon originally wanted to be with the Suns, but since he's a restricted FA last year, the Hornets matched the Suns' offer that brought him back to New Orleans for 4 years with the 4th being his option to whether opt in or out. Now, he wants out of New Orleans with Indiana a possible destination. Indiana would send G/F Paul George and C Roy Hibbert for Eric Gordon and their '14 1st round pick. It would be a very good trade for both sides, but the Hornets GM says it is unlikely, but it has a slim chance to happen as he wants Gordon and Davis to build around for the future.

"The trade could happen, but its chances of happening very slim. A Dwight three is more likely to happen than this. But I consider this trade, I might execute this trade if he [Gordon] continues to slump for the month," Nambayan said, "As you can see, Davis has to carry the scoring load for the Hornets and he's got no support for it when Gordon can't find the net. Gordon seemed to struggle with his height and good perimeter defenders like Kobe and Tony Allen the last two games. And tomorrow, we're facing the Heat and Wade's guarding him."

The Lakers and Grizzlies game will be recapped tomorrow.

Bad news if he wants out. At least he's contracted though and you can trade him for something nice if you have to. (Y)

Noooo! At first i like to trade gordon until i saw his strength in scoring on a drive :)

In my game i almost accepted a trade for aminu henry and picks for danny granger. Maybe you like this for a story. Granger is from new orleans i think and you can build around a big three for davis EG and granger hehe

I suggest getting a point guard who can create shots and a small forward.

Hornets land 5-time champion D-Fish

Image

The Hornets have claimed NBA vet and 5-time NBA Champion, Derek Fisher off the free agent pool, contract worth 720K for a year. Fisher stated he wanted to help the Hornets build and strengthen its chemistry since it's one of their problems off the court, and the Hornets needed leadership and a decent backup point guard for the inconsistent Jonny Flynn. Also, Fisher announced that he will leave the game of basketball at the end of the season.

"I had a great career, winning championships and all. But this is it for me, after this season, I'm gonna walk away from the game of basketball with my head held up high." Fisher stated, "This is a nice young team and I'm here to teach them and lead them. Nambayan spoke to me earlier and he said there will be a big move he'll do after this and I can't tell you right now."

BREAKING: Eric Gordon traded to Pacers for Granger

Image

The Hornets seemed to have had a change of heart. Just yesterday Gordon asked to be moved away from New Orleans and they insisted they will keep him. But today, just today, the dealt him to Indiana for its franchise centerpiece, Danny Granger. The deal was completely a surprise for the basketball world as the Hornets executed their 2nd trade of the season and it's not even the deadline yet.

The Hornets sent Gordon, Austin Rivers and their 2014 1st round pick and in return, Indiana sends them Danny Granger and Paul George. This seemed to be a fair deal for both sides, especially giving up Rivers who has shown much immaturity because he wanted to play a starter's minutes despite him being a sixth man; Rivers also has proven to be a bust averaging just 4 points and 37% shooting in an average of 20 minutes of play. The trade also upgraded the small forward position for the Hornets, Aminu has been good, but they certainly could use an upgrade.

Hornets receive:
Danny Granger
Paul George

Pacers receive:
Eric Gordon
Austin Rivers
'14 1st round pick

Woogie98,Durant35, thanks guys. Really thought of the deal, I was going for Hibbert but soon thought that getting Granger was better. I'll just update the Lakers, Grizzlies game (pre-Granger deal) and Heat (post-Granger deal) all at once probably tomorrow.

Martti., thanks. My 1st round pick wouldn't be so valuable during that time anyway.

Yeah I would have done Gordon for George straight up as it is, so you did really well on that trade. Pacers must be looking to rebuild or at least retool and must have their eye on something in this draft.
Vaz/George/Granger/AD/Lopez is a very well rounded and defensively solid lineup already!

Thanks, guys. I haven't been able to update since I was trying out for my school's senior basketball team the last 2 days but somehow got cut probably because the coach doesn't know me since I'm new in my school. On Friday I'm trying out again.

Mark., BTW, Vasquez has been traded to the Cavs for Thompson and Flynn is my PG. Anyways, thanks for the feedback!

This is one of the "looks solid for both but one teams gets surely fucked" - trades. Let's hope that you will be the one laughin in the end. Only time will tell.

Guessing that the Hornets are gonna be 8-10 seeded at the end of the season. Just not enough key pieces IMO.

Let's hope it's the 8th seed. My goal is to at least make the playoffs. My number one weakness is the point guard position. Flynn isn't the type of player that I want. Anyway, I haven't been able to update since RL has been busy for me right now. I could do some replies like this but not updates though.

Re: (9-9) The Big Easy | LAL & MEM game recap

Postby mrmoves20 on Wed Jan 16, 2013 9:33 am

Gasol-less Lakers hold off Hornets; 100-97

The struggling Lakers has been once again saved by their usual savior, the Black Mamba. Bryant scored 25 points in the first half and finished with 37 in the game. 9 of his points came in the closing quarter after hitting a tough, clutch basket with 1:20 remaining and 2 free throws in the final seconds. Gordon played great defense against Bryant throughout the second half, but who could stop a player who really plays their best under pressure? Steve Nash added 16 points, 11 assists and actually played great D with 4 steals. The Hornets hacked Dwight in the 4th which helped them a bit to stay in the game.
Despite 22 points and 15 boards from Thompson and 21 from Davis. They had a very hard time scoring in the paint because of Dwight. They couldn't position themselves and as a result shot poorly.

Lakers 29 24 25 22 | 100
Hornets 26 21 24 26 | 97

Top Performers

Lakers
Bryant 37 pts 5 ast 2 blk
Nash 16 pts 11 ast 4 stl
World Peace 9 pts 9 reb

Hornets
Thompson 22 pts 15 reb
Davis 21 pts 7 reb
Flynn 10 pts 10 ast

Memphis blow by Hornets; 110-96

The top-seeded Grizzlies crush the up-and-down Hornets squad behind a combined 52 points from Gay and Allen. The Grizzlies went off a fast start leading the Hornets by 11 at the first period, but Davis led the Hornets on cutting the lead to four at halftime. Gay shot an efficient 11-18 from the field and Allen was locked down both on offense and on defense. He stood out on both ends on the floor, first on the offensive side by being aggressive and knocking down his jumpers; on defense, he made Gordon shoot poorly with only 4-21 from the field.

Grizzlies 30 24 25 31 | 110
Hornets 19 31 21 25 | 96

Top Performers

Grizzlies
Gay 32 pts 4 reb 3 stl
Allen 20 pts 8 reb
Conley 11 pts 11 ast

Hornets
