Belinelli's good play continues, 13 points halfway through the third quarter and he hasn't missed a shot (or free throw) as of this post.

they continue to surprise me. With the Nets up by 2 and Deron williams had 3 upcoming free throws late in the game... the bulls still find a way to win.

Belinelli with the go-ahead basket too, though he did actually miss his first shot shortly after my previous post.

Good game against the Nets, Teague with the steal and the hand off to Deng in closing minutes was a good job on his part. It sucks he was on the bad end of some shitty foul calls while he guarded Williams but he did a good job helping Nate out at the point.

Oh, I had a feeling it would happen. Fortunately, I had the good sense not to say anything else until the game was in the books.

ESPN Australia has the Knicks game tomorrow, first Bulls game they've shown this season.

Well, it was batcrap crazy and hugely ugly at times, but it was still a happy result. Outstanding play by Deng, and Noah (while he was on the court) and a terrific all-round performance from Captain Kirk, particularly on the offensive end, as he got a near triple-double. Butler and Deng had a pretty solid tag-team defensive effort against Carmelo and Belinelli did well to hit his free-throws and made a couple of nice drives to result in easy shots, which will be handy once Rose returns.

Noah needs more help, though. He's going to get burned out before long if he has to keep playing these kind of minutes at this kind of intensity.

Well for the first game they've aired over there, sure was one of the more hilarious games I've seen.

It certainly got ugly towards the end and really shouldn't have been that close at the finish, but I think we'll all take the win given the circumstances. The first half was a lot of fun to watch, some fine play at both ends. Definitely a throwback performance by Captain Kirk, I'm not expecting that to be commonplace but if he can bust out a game like that every once in a while and be more or less solid and dependable the rest of the time, they're getting their money's worth from him. Groaned when I saw Deng clutching his shoulder, glad to see it didn't turn out to be anything serious.

Didn't much care for the game against the Rockets, either.

The postponement of the game against the Pacers has potentially spared them going on a three game losing streak. Now they face the Wizards and Bobcats in Chicago to end 2012, giving them at least a decent chance to rack up another couple of wins heading into next year.

Hamilton ended up starting in his return to action against the Wizards, though he only played 14 minutes. Belinelli had a team high 17 points in 33 minutes off the bench, so it remains to be seen how long that arrangement will last. His play while Hamilton was out showed that he can be a capable starter, so perhaps he'll ultimately win that role. I suppose it doesn't matter who's starting as long as what they're doing is working, but if nothing else if Hamilton isn't fit to start or play starter's minutes, it's good to know the Bulls have someone who can step into that role at shooting guard.

it was one game. of course it remains to be seen how long the arrangement will last lol

RIP is not in the Bulls long term plans. As you said, Bellineli has proved he can play. He is the better fit and will be the better fit with Rose. I'm glad Thibbs is not showing favortism towards a vet like Rip. Now it's just a matter of time before RIP asks for a trade

1 game out of 1st heading into the new year. no one predicted that.

Danny Granger's injury has certainly done them a favour in that regard.

Close call against the Magic despite a decent lead in the third, but at least they managed to eke out the win sans Noah. Credit where it's due, Boozer stepped up with a pretty good game, as did Gibson starting in Noah's place. As usual, I think we'll all take it, though that kind of shooting display from the backcourt is obviously less than desirable.
