He did make cricket more interesting, since he wasn't affraid to take on Australia. I didn't always agree with what he said, but like you bowdown, he was one of the commentators I grew up listening to.
On the same day Tony Greig died, Mike Hussey called it quits. That's going to leave a big hole in the middle order with the Ashes coming up. I'm not entirely sure how Australia are going to fill it. They could go with someone like Khawaja, a specialist batsmen, or even another allrounder who can fill in if another bowler gets injured, like Henriques. It's going to be interesting to see which direction they go. Either way, Hussey will be missed. He was definitely one of my favourite players to watch.
There's also
this:
It comes after Haddin sensationally blasted the unpredictable Jamaican for being all talk while failing to deliver on his hype and pay cheque at the Thunder.
Haddin shook his head as he walked off, then turned to Gayle to hand out his bat, implying he had done nothing with the willow earlier.
Haddin arrived at the boundary and told Fox Sports: "He's been all talk so far this tournament and they haven't won a game.
"It's disappointing to get out then, I was feeling pretty good.
"But at least the Thunder fans have seen Chris Gayle do something for his money.''
The pot calling the kettle black a little on that one. Form slump or not, any side in world cricket would take Gayle over Haddin. I think Haddin should know about such times, since a slump is basically the reason he's not playing for Australia anymore.
