Warriors blow out Suns in opener
Box Score(PHX:GS)
Teams Stats

The Warriors came out and ready for the new season. The Suns however, did not. The game ended almost as soon as it started. The Warriors started the game blazing hot, shooting 83% for the first quarter. They were led by Steph Curry, who scored 8 points in that quarter.

There is not much to say about this game. The Warriors did not look back. They countered every run the Suns tried to make. As early as the second quarter, the lead ballooned to 20 points. And that is with the starters sitting on the bench. The Suns appeared to not have prepared for this game. They looked slow and they shot horribly shooting only 34% for the whole game.

Goran Dragic was the only bright spot for the Suns as he almost recorded a double double, scoring 17 points and dishing out 9 assists. But he turned the ball over 7 times. Newly acquired Beasley scored 13 points on 4-14 shooting and Brown scored 11 on 5 of 18 attempts. Steph Curry led the Warriors with 17 points. He also had 9 assists and 3 steals. Brandon Rush came off the bench scoring 16 points. Harrison Barnes was the third leading scorer for the Warriors with 13. Five Warriors scored double digits and Two more scored 9.

I love your presentation. And nice win by the way blowing out the Suns like that. And in the Warriors' first game! Looking forward to this story and if you might add the final score to your recap it would be even better. Just sayin'. Anyway, nice win! (Y)

New Orleans sign Oden to 1yr/$4.61M deal

The New Orleans Hornets signed big man Greg Oden from free agency in the opening night of the season. Greg Oden was waived by Portland on March 15, 2012. Since then, he was focusing on rehabbing his knees.

Initially, Oden planned on skipping this season to concentrate further on his knee recovery but he was miracurously cleared to play by his doctors.

"I was shocked too at first when I found out that I can play this season but when I went to the gym and played a little, it certainly felt better than before" said Oden. He also confidently said that he can play a full season this year.

Oden still does not know whether he will start for the Hornets or come off the bench. But Hornets management are sure that he and 1st overall pick Anthony Davis can be a deadly combo in the front court

I wonder why the Hornets signed Oden. I guess they wanted to play Davis at the 4.

I think they just signed the highest rated free agent to bolster their roster.

Curry lifts Warriors past Trail Blazers, 109-100
Box Score(GS:POR)
Team Stats

Steph Curry played one of his best games in his career. He scored 29 points, dished out 14 assists and grabbed 8 rebounds in a win against the Portland Trail Blazers.

It was a back and forth throughout the whole game. Neither team gave in. One team makes a run, the other team makes a run of their own. The game was so tight, there were 12 lead changes in the game. Neither team led by more than 9 points.

The turning point of the game was the 3-pointer of Harrison Barnes with 3:23 left in the game. Steph Curry drove to the lane from the wing then saw Barnes at the top of the key. He passed it Barnes and he made the 3. Barnes made 3 3-pointers prior to that shot. He finished the game with 19 points. David Lee scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds while Bogut recorded a double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The Trail Blazers forced 16 turnovers as opposed to the 8 of the Warriors but struggled on the floor, making only 37% of their field goal attempts.

Nicolas Batum scored 28 points for Portland on 50% shooting. Lilliard continued to struggle on the floor as he only made 4 out of 18 shots (He shot 3-13 in their last game). Aldridge was nowhere to be found in this game as he only scored 7 points.

Curry's game winner gives Spurs their third straight loss.
Box Score(GS:SAS)

They say it is not how you shoot, it is when you shoot. Steph Curry struggled with his shot the whole game. He only scored 8 points on 3-11 shooting. He also was 0-5 beyond the arc. But those didn't matter when Steph Curry hit a game winning layup with 2.2 seconds on the game clock.

The Warriors were in control for the most part of the game. Both teams were back and forth in the first half of the first quarter. Harrison Barnes sparked a run for the Warriors and they led by 8 at the end of the first.

The bench continued the play with Carl Landry as the main man. He scored 10 of his 15 points in the 2nd quarter alone. The warriors lead ballooned to as much as 15 points. The half ended with the score 62-52

The Spurs came back in the third using their tight defense. The Warriors started the quarter 0 for 7 and that sparked a 6-0 run by the Spurs. The Spurs continued to hang on but failed to get the lead in the third.

In the 4th, both teams exchanged baskets throughout. The Spurs would score but they could not get the necessary stops that they needed. Parker would score 15 of his 25 points in the fourth as they slowly cut the lead of the Warriors.

With the score at 107-104, Ginobili would come off a ball screen on the left wing and shot a drifting jumper to tie the score at 107. With about 10 seconds to go, Steph Curry would use a Bogut pick and drive all the way for an easy lay-up with 2.2 seconds to go. Parker would miss a long heave at the buzzer.

This loss for the Spurs would be their 3rd straight loss. They have yet to win the season. It also the 3rd straight for the Warriors but in the win column. Golden State will face the Kings next at home.

Watch the exciting final 2 minutes of this game!

Warriors blow out Kings for fourth straight win, 99-79
Box Score(GS:SAC)
Team Stats

Klay Thompson played his best game of the season, scoring 25 points on 12-22 shooting. Harrison Barnes continued to impress as he scored 16 points and Steph Curry scored 13 points and dished out 8 assists.

The Warriors started the game with an 8-0 run and never looked back. The Kings never led in the game. They kept the score as close as 6 points.

The Warriors made their biggest run in the third. They started the 2nd half with a 10-0 run and led by as much as 26 points. 6 minutes into the third, the Warriors would clear their bench to give playing time to the bench players.

The Warriors continued to play great defense, limiting the Kings to only 34% shooting. For the fourth straight game, the Warriors limited their oppenents to under 40% shooting.

Tyreke Evans led the Kings with 18 points. Brooks followed with 16 points.

The Kings fall to 2-2 while the Warriors climb to 4-0.

Warriors bench beat Jazz, extend win streak to 5
Box Score(GS:UTA)
Team Stats

The Warriors, on a 4-game win streak, decided to play the bench against the struggling Utah Jazz. The Jazz are 0-4 coming into the game.

The Warriors would start their usual starting 5. But without Andrew Bogut (Knee Tendinitis). He was replaced by Carl Landry in the starting position. Coach Mark Jackson would replace his entire lineup halfway into the first quarter and they would only be back for a few minutes in the game to give rest to the other players.

Brandon Rush led the scoring with 17 points. Ken Bazemore, who was put into the lineup because of the Bogut injury, scored 13 points. Jarrett Jack flirted with a triple double with 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists.

The bench would score 65 out of the 95 points for the Warriors.

"I wanted to give the bench guys confidence in their game. It would also help the rookies like Ezeli and Bazemore develop their game" said Coach Jackson.

Randy Foye scored 35 points for the Jazz on 11-27 shooting. The Jazz now drop to 0-5, while the Warriors, along with the Wizards and the Thunder, climb to 5-0 to be the only 3 teams left without a loss.

Carl Landry wants out of Golden State

Carl Landry recently told the Warriors management that he wants to be traded. He stated that he is not given the playing time he was promised.

"I think I can help the team more if I was given more playing time. I know we are in a good streak now, but playing the starters more minutes can really tire them. I think this is the reason Andrew is out now." said Landry, referring to Andrew Bogut who was sidelined by knee tendinitis. Bogut missed their last game against the Jazz.

Landry started in place of Bogut and played 27 minutes. But he only scored 4 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.

Landry is only playing 19 minutes a game. He scoring 8 points and grabbing 4 rebounds a game. The last time he posted this kind of numbers was when he was a rookie.

Warriors management stated that they look to try and find a solution for Carl Landry and they will do what is best for the team.

So what do you think guys? Should I trade him? Or should I give him more playing time? Opinions are highly appreciated :D

Warriors extend win streak to 6 with strong 2nd half.
Box Score(GS:DAL)
Team Stats

The Warriors beat the Mavs, 119-98. The Warriors did not play like that Warriors that won 5 games in the first half against the Mavericks. They shot poorly, they turned the ball over too many times, and they gave up alot of open shots.

"We weren't ourselves in the first half. I think we got complacent and underestimated them a little bit." said forward David Lee, who scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in this game.

True enough, the Warriors were just sagging off every Maverick and daring them to shoot. The Mavericks capitalized. The Mavericks shot close to 60% in that half and led by as much as 14.

Things got worse in the 2nd quarter when the bench entered the game. The bench players found themselves playing even worse than the starters and let the Mavericks make a run. The Warriors let the Mavs score 63 on the first half, their most of the season.

If the first half was the Mavs' half, then the 2nd half became the Warriors' half. Klay Thompson, who did not score in the first half, scored the first 10 points for the Warriors. Thompson finished with 22. They also went with a half court trapping defense, which resulted in many turnovers and stops.

The momentum changed instantly. In a blink of an eye, the Mavs find themselves down big in the fourth. The game was tied after the 3rd but in the fourth they failed to make shots. They only scored 15 points while the Warriors scored 36.

"It all happened so fast. One minute we were tied then suddenly we were down by 15. We didn't know what happened." Said Nowitzki.

Dirk struggled the whole game, shooting only 5-17 from the floor with 16 points. Kaman led the Mavs with 24 points and 11 rebounds. He shot 9-16 from the field.

The Mavs fall to 4-2 while the Warriors climb to 6-0. The Warriors will face the Thunder next at home. Thunder are also undefeated, with a record of 6-0

Durant drops 39 to help Thunder win 8th straight
(Simmed Game)

In this game to determine the best in the west, the Thunder came out with a convincing win. Kevin Durant scored 39 points on 17-24 shooting to keep their win streak alive.

With both teams undefeated coming into this game, everybody expected a very close game. But the Thunder did not want the game to be close. They slowly widened the gap quarter by quarter and did not give the Warriors any chance.

The Warriors, who did not let any opponent scored more than 40% of their field goal attempts, allowed the Thunder 52% from the field. The Warriors made 45% of their attempts.

David Lee scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Harrison Barnes scored 16 points. Steph Curry struggled in his shooting scoring only 12 points on 5-15 shooting.

Curry records triple double in win over Rockets, 104-96
Box score(GS:HOU)
Team Stats

Losing in their last game, the Warriors vowed to bounce back. And that is what they did against the Rockets. It wasn't particularly easy, as the game was tightly contested and the game could be won by either team until the last few minutes.

The Warriors made 4 straight 3 pointers in the last 3 minutes of the game. With Steph Curry making 3 of those shots. Curry scored 22 points in the game. He also grabbed 10 rebounds and dished 10 assists. This is his first triple double of the season.

Even with the absence of James Harden, the Rockets did not let up. They competed until the very end. They even led by as much as 8 in the game. The Rockets were leading until the last few minutes of the game, but poor shooting in the fourth and failure to get stops cost them the game.

Patrick Patterson, Chandler Parsons and Jeremy Lin scored 18 points apiece. Daequan Cook, who replaced the injured Harden, played terribly. He scored only 11 points on 5-17 shooting. He shot 3-14 from behind the arc.
