Would it be good if they have a 14 games dynasty length?

What would be the point?? Maybe a 40 game or 30 game, even a 70 game... something in between, but no way a 14. Not attacking you or anything but Nick said it loud and clear.

i don't think it's dumb. why not? what makes this idea so useless? why not be able to remember that this is a VIDEO GAME, not the NBA. people who use it for an NBA sim (like I do), wouldn't use a 14-game season in Dynasty Mode, but if someone wants to just have fun and play dynasty, but doesn't want to play a whole bunch of games, and doesn't want to have to sim games,....why not be able to have a shorter season?

14 games isn't really enough to determine awards and such. Plus, hardly no injury's, and if their are, the players won't heal in time for the playoffs and stuff.

14 just seems like an odd number, which is why I asked what the point of a 14 game season would be.

i'm kind of dumbfounded that you guys can't understand that maybe someone would enjoy playing a very short season, and then be able to do the whole free agent and rookie draft thing....maybe they don't care about injuries, etc.....It's kind of a materialistic point of view, instead of simulation, but I can understand it.

I'm not sure if this is what he meant by 14, but in 2005, there will be 30 NBA teams, so 14 games would be playing half those teams, maybe even just the ones in your conference. (before you call me on that "error", keep in mind it wasn't one. you don't play your own team lol :) )

I understand the reasoning and I'm sure everyone else does too. I just wondered why airkobetmacbigticket suggested a 14 game schedule. I actually did later think of the reason you suggested (playing the teams in your conference only once), but that would probably get a little boring, playing teams from the East or West only once per season.

I'm at work at the moment and so cant check Live, but in 2004 did they have an option to select the teams that you participated against in a Dynasty?

I remember this from a few years ago (I think). When you could create teams. You were able to select the teams that went into each conference. Perhaps by incorporating this into a select length feature you would be able to only have 8 teams competing in a dynasty and then a 14 game season would make more sense. They would play each other twice, once home and once away.

Sound ok?

It's still possible in Season Mode IIRC, but it wasn't possible in Dynasty Mode. The only way to edit the conferences for Dynasty Mode was through DBF editing...and that generally caused problems (eg trying to place the Bobcats into Dynasty Mode as the 30th NBA team).
