I'm planning on adding a "recommended 2K ratings" feature to NBA Stats Tracker using slimm's formulas, which given NBA Stats Tracker's ability to download all the stats from B-R.com, should make it really easy to update the roster in the future.

Two questions:

1. Can you explain to me how that would work? Could you also incorporate statistics from other websites, such as Hoopdata.com? PM me if you'd like.

2. I know this is the wrong thread, but can you add the ability to edit playbooks and Hot Zones to your roster? If so, that would save several days of editing.

What makes this mod “sim”? Here are a few of the features that set this project apart from all others:

- Every art file (jerseys, arenas, cyberfaces, accessories, courts, dornas (advertisement at half court), etc is realistic and none will crash game play
- There is no missing art file in the entire project

Every player in every roster has:
- Accurate statistical ratings and tendencies to work with 2k's simulation engine while still providing realistic game play
- Realistic ratings and tendencies that affect game play but not the simulation engine ie dribbling, athletic ratings, post tendencies, etc.
- Realistic physical attributes that decrease after major injuries or as the player gets older
- Accurate play types
- Accurate contracts

- Accurately updated Coaching profiles and playbooks

- Draft classes that have realistic player information for every player

- A few slider sets designed to be a base for realistic game play

1. NBA Stats Tracker downloads all current basic stats for NBA teams and players from B-R.com. I could expand its fields to include more advanced stats, right now it's everything that's in the box score, plus metrics of course. I could incorporate Hoopdata.com data as well, if they're easy enough to mine, and I add the required fields. Using the stats it downloads, it would then use your formulas to calculate recommended ratings, and have a feature to export those in a table that's Roster Editor and/or REDitor compatible. Take a look at what NST currently has, tell me what's missing.

You're missing a required registry value for whatever reason, the "Saves" value actually in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\2K Sports\NBA 2K12. Don't know why that would be. Tool shouldn't be crashing because of this anyway, so I've fixed it and uploaded a new version (1.1.0.1).

@ Leftos - I tinkered with the program but don't have 2k12 installed anymore so I can't do anything with box scores. I was able to download and export the season stats from this season but only got team stats. For it to mine the stats and transfer it to ratings/tendencies, it would need:

Everything in the BR section besides WS is already there. Don't know why it only downloaded team stats. I grabbed them today, players had their stats there too. If you used the "Export" menu, that doesn't do much. It's pretty much obsolete. Use the Team, Player and League Overview to see its features, as well as Advanced Player Search.

I'd need to implement the specific Hoop Data shot info though, specifically the separation between At Rim, Close and Mid Range field goals.

I made a mistake as I was rushing, which is why I only saw team stats. I was able to find all stats, individual and team. Looks great!

I'm finally done incorporating my accessories in slimm44's roster. All shall have pressure shorts and none shall be wearing the normal sleeves.

It took me three days to get this done. Hopefully slimm44 will like it, and sorry for the one day delay. :mrgreen:

and now it's up to Mattan to fix the colors :)

Could you maybe upload the roster for all of us somewhere? So at least we have good playbooks for all the team?

The playbooks are not done being edited yet. I still have to do all the teams from the Jazz on. If you download the roster from the link in the first post, all teams were given a generic playbook where all plays are usuable. They're not team-specific, but they are better than the default rosters 2k used as the plays are not broken. It's going to be a few weeks before the Playbooks and Hot Spots are all done. They are very time-consuming edits.

What makes this mod “sim”? Here are a few of the features that set this project apart from all others:

- Every art file (jerseys, arenas, cyberfaces, accessories, courts, dornas (advertisement at half court), etc is realistic and none will crash game play
- There is no missing art file in the entire project

Every player in every roster has:
- Accurate statistical ratings and tendencies to work with 2k's simulation engine while still providing realistic game play
- Realistic ratings and tendencies that affect game play but not the simulation engine ie dribbling, athletic ratings, post tendencies, etc.
- Realistic physical attributes that decrease after major injuries or as the player gets older
- Accurate play types
- Accurate contracts

- Accurately updated Coaching profiles and playbooks

- Draft classes that have realistic player information for every player

- A few slider sets designed to be a base for realistic game play

So there can be varieties among rosters. Besides, Alby and slimm use different formulas when it comes to rating players. Not sure about Alby but I'll vouch for slimm.

That will be a big mess... first of all they use different formulas to calculate tendencies and ratings, however if they do produce a formula for the collaboration then why not?
