BLURRY/LOW QUALITY PLAYERS IN "PICK A TEAM" SCREEN

Postby soulart on Sun Nov 11, 2012 6:50 pm

Hi, I would just want to ask why the players that appear during the "pick a team" screen are blurry/ low quality? I have already set all my video options to high. I would definitely appreciate the feedback, Thank you.

Am I the only one having this problem or is it really just like this?

Graphics settings dont change this, its a weird kind of render of characters on menus. Its not like a full 3d render that you get in game play or when viewing characters in line up as you start a game, menus are weird in this game they always look like that, a kind of strange 2d/3d look with no AA (one thing I thought was pretty grim about the whole GUI of this game TBH esp for PC).

hmmm. Mine don't look like that. Are you sure you are not forcing performance options vs quality in the drivers? or maybe some sort of post processing AA? Maybe it depends on what vid card you have?

This is what my menu looks like: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=108021026

I have all video settings jacked in game and am forcing 4xAA in catalyst control settings.

Well thats interesting becuase I have all setting max nvidia set to high quality 4xaa ANastropic highest, using latest Nividia driver 306.81 (GTX260) and I have never seen it as crips as your screenshot, I always have blurr jaggie cutout look, never been any different.

Maybe its an Nvidia thing?

BTW Deluxxe any chance you can screen grab you myplayer from myplayer account screen and also in career mode home page? Interested to see how yours looks, the crappy look is worse for me on myplayer in career mode home page.

I also have an Nvidia card, for what it's worth.

What and you also see the low quality too?

I just thought it was normal console port menu renders, but now after seeing that ATI render im not so sure.

btw I have an AMD/ATI 6970 and an intel i5-750 OC'd to 3.6Ghz

hm. that's weird. I guess it doesn't really matter though as long as the in-game textures are not like that.
Would be nice to hear from other nvidia users and AMD users. I'm assuming it's just an nvidia issue but the sample size is pretty small right now.

Yes Andrew mine look nice and shoddy just like yours  :D

In-game is completely fine, just in menus, when I look at myplayer from the home menu in career he looks like a blurred jaggy mess.

I had something like that before, I think it was an AA thing.

Do you have Morpholgical filtering enabled in your Control Center?

Oh, so I'm not the only one having this problem. It only bugs me 'coz 2k12's version has a higher quality. I have a GTX580 btw, and all the graphic options are maxed-out. The in-game graphics are normal, and I know that's the important thing, I just thought that maybe 2k has a fix for this.

Thanks for the reply guys, do post a message here if ever you have found any workaround for this. Godspeed!

I have ATI and it's blurry just like everyone else's. I think it's just the way it is.

Well, I bought a new monitor yesterday which supports a higher resolution. Changing it up resulted in this, suggesting it's a matter of the resolution settings.

Still weird though, I mean what is res for consoles in general? I dont think screen res should have that much of an effect its very odd how its rendered on menu's for that to be the case. Im on 1440x900 16:9.= mines only 17".

Obviously this is the reason, but still strange results based on screen res.

I also have blurry visuals in menus and whatnot. I'm running 1080p though, shouldnt that be high enough? Nvidia 560ti btw.

I assume it's a random setting that's not playing nice. Ill fiddle around to see if anything changes.

I'd assume 1080p, full HD. I was on 1440x900 as well but I'm now on 1920x1080.

Yea I fixed the problem by turning all the extra options in Nvidia Control Panel to off for NBA 2k13. Then slowly switching them all on again until the problem came back on. Funny thing is I believe I have everything set to it's maximum once again, and the problem hasn't came back.

If you're having the problem just play with Nvidia settings.

Voley,

Confused about your post, when you say turned them all off, what was on? And what is it now set too in nvidia? Whats your screen game res and nvidia driver? Can you list you 3d settings for the game from nvidia driver and a screenshot of what you have now?
