Prologue
September 23:Bellagio Casino - Las Vegs,Nevada - On a dark, hidden room with a single playing table, 5 of the most famous clients of the casino were in for a big game. One of them ,was the best athlete the world has ever witnessed,Michael Jordan. After an hour and about a million of dollars lost,MJ was in a point where he had to do the only thing he didn't want to:Step out of the game.
-Man,I'm out,i've lost everything here.Jordan said
-Well,let's have a last little bet between you and me then. replied one of the players in the table.A former high school rival of MJ at his days in Emsley A. Laney High School, the mysterious man was a big enemy of Jordan for a reason. Jordan's intentional in-game hit on a class between their High Schools, resulted in a severely damaged knee and foot, which ended all the hopes he had in playing basketball professionaly. Being a successful businessman now,he had all the power he could to have his own litlle vengeance and humiliate Michael where he was a legend: In the NBA.
-So what's the bet MJ asked
-On the next round,it's only you against me. You win the round, I give back to you all the money you've lost, and you won't have to step out of the table. You lose, then you're going to fire Rich Cho and let me appoint anyone I want. What do you say?
Jordan was sure that he was about to regret this word, but his issue with gambling issues outweighted his logic once more: - I'm in!

September 24, Athens,Greece. A 20 year old teen was sitting on his office, looking at the paperwork he had to do for the day,and cursing his luck. He had the smart idea of applying for the GM spot in a local division team, where he was also a player. Despite the team making it into the 3rd National division for the first time in 20 years, the loads of work he had to do was too much for him, concerning his almost non existent pay check and his university studies. He was though commited to the team, and he had to keep his word, despite the hard times. As he was getting ready to leave the office and go the university lesson he had ,leaving the paperwork for the long night that was going to follow, his phone rang.
-Εμπρος. (Hello in Greek)He answered
-Hello,you must be Mr. Koukoulis, right? said the man on the other end of the line.
-Yeah,who's there? George said.
-It's Michael Jordan...
BREAKING NEWS: Rich Cho sacked; Newcomer George Koukoulis announced as the new GM
On a surprising announcement, the Charlotte Bobcats announced that Rich Cho is fired from the General Manager position. His replacement is a total stranger to the NBA,a 20 year old youngster from Athens,George Koukoulis. Koukoulis was serving as a GM for an unknown 3rd division team from Athens. The criteria used in this desicion are unclear, though it is said that it was a personal choice by Michael Jordan himself.
Bobcats went through a tough season, finishing with the worst winning percentage ever by an NBA team, and with a record of 7 wins and 59 losses. A change is clearly needed for a fresh start, but this is a choice that surprised everyone, and reminded all of the bad decisions MJ has made as an executive all these years.
"I'm too happy to be here in the franchise."Koukoulis said " It's a dream coming true,to work for an NBA team. Though I was really surprised by this in the beggining, I'm ready to work my butt off and make something good happen. As the new General Manager of the Bobcats, I've set some targets for the season, some personal bets as you might say,in order for this team to be successful anytime soon. I can only tell that there are going to be some major shake-ups in the roster in the next few days."

Chapter 2
Charlotte ,North Carolina -- On a quiet day for him, Jordan was again in one of his weekly golf games with friends and old teammates.
-Hole at one!! Said Jordan, whose skills have been more than impresive, after quite a few years of playing regularly golf.
-Great job Mr.Jordan ,a heck of a shot! Said his assistant, who ran to the cart in order to get MJ to the hole, where his golf ball was.
As they were heading to the hole, Jordan's cellphone rang,it was a call from Rod Higgins, the President of Basketball operations.
-Yeah Rod,I'm listening... he said. - He did WHAT?!?! His first move is bringin this dumbass to the team??? Gosh, keep track of his moves,I don't want any dumb signings like this one without informing me first at least...
-All ok Mr.Jordan? his assistant asked
-Not sure. This kid is going to humiliate me and the team...
Charlotte Bobcats active just before the tip-off: Sign Kenyon Martin, land McGee and Koufos in a two team trade
Charotte, North Carolina -- On a surprising move, newcomer GM George Koukoulis has landed three new players in Charlotte, just before the start of the new season. First it was the signing of seasoned veteran and former No1 draft pick,Kenyon Martin. Martin signed an annual contract for just 1.5 million, after rejecting offers from Greece and China,as he wanted to stay in the NBA and in the USA,where his family is.
Not an hour after this move,Bobcats announced the completion of a deal between their team and the Denver Nuggets. Charlotte will get the two seven footed giants from Denver, Javale McGee and ,another Greek along with Koukoulis in the team, Kosta Koufos. Denver will get on the other hand ,the 26 year-old PF Tyrus Thomas, Center Byron Mullens and two second round draft picks for the 2013 and 2014 NBA Drafts.
"These are my first moves as the GM of the Cats, and they're not the last" said Koukoulis. "As year on rebuilding mode, I wanted to get as many young talent as possible. Kenyon Martin might not be the youngest player in the league, but he's going to be more than valuable with his exprience,as he can really affect Biyombo and take the rook into the next level. I also aknowledge that Javale has not one of the best reputations in the league, especially concerning his basketball IQ, but I'm sure he's going to get better, and that's a big personal bet of mine" he added.

Week 1[1-1]: Bobcats split back to back games, suffer huge opening day loss
What an akward opening week that was for the Charlotte Bobcats. The Cats showed two different faces in the first two games , showing that they need some time together in order to makethings work, but also that they have lots of talent and potential.
Game 1:Indiana Pacers @ Charlotte Bobcats 93-65(November 2nd)
THE FACTS:The Indiana Pacers made an outstanding performance ,shocking a sold out crowd in Charlotte, which wanted to see the fresh start of the new Bobcats. Even though the two teams were close in the whole first half, with the Pacers having just a 5 point lead after the end of the 2nd quarter, second half was a whole different story. The Pacers outclassed Charlotte in every single statistic category, scored 23 points more in the half and cruised to one of their easiest victories in the last seasons.
Paul George(23 points,4 steals) was the best player in the court ,doing literally everything on both ends of the floor, and providing us with some impressive highlights, along with fellow highflyer Gerald Green(10 points). Danny Granger (16 points,7 rebounds,4 assists) provided a well rounded game, while DJ Augusting(12 points,12 assists),a former Bobcat, was a constant threat for his old team.
On the other hand, for the Bobcats, Kemba Walker (19 points) was one of the few stand outs, with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist(16 points,6 rebounds), the No 2 pick in this year's draft ,making a pretty good debut in the NBA. Newcomer Javale McGee was the only other Bobcat with double figures in points (10 points).
HOT: The Indiana Pacers. They had some impressive % in the game, with 63% in FGs,100% in FTs and 83% in 3PTs.
NOT:Ben Gordon had 5 points with 2-12 shooting. He could do better for sure.
QUOTABLE: "It just didn't work for us. Fair and simple. We're a young team though, meaning that day by day, game by game we're going to get better"
--GM George Koukoulis

Game 2: Charlotte Bobcats @ Dallas Mavericks 81-73(November 3rd)
THE FACTS: They got blown out in their home ground, and the next day they win in one of the toughest home grounds in the league. That's the unpredictable Charlotte Bobcats. Both teams were trading buckets and trading leagues for the whole game, providing a physical ,yet impressive game of hoops. The Bobcats provided an impressive team effort ,hustling on D and sharing the ball,as no individual score more than 14 points for the Cats. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist(14 points,5 rebounds,6 assists) was the top scorer and showed some more glances of his Kentucky self, but Kemba Walker(13 points,8 assists,5 steals) was the one getting the Man of the Match honors with a well-rounded performance. Ben Gordon looked sharp, with 13 crucial points.
For the losing side,Darren Collison(18 points,7 assists) had a great game, while OJ Mayo(16 points) and Dirk Nowitzki(10 points) were the other two Mavs in double figures.
TURNING POINT:With 2:30 minutes remaining, and the game tied at 66 apiece ,the Bobcats scored 10 quick unanswered points ,bringing the game beyond reach, with Ben Gordon,Javale McGee and Bismak Biyombo(11 pts) being the main motors of the run,and those who secured the huge W on the road.
QUOTABLE:"We're a tough team. We're not going to score a lot of points, maybe due to our lack of experience, but we're going to make sure that our opponents are going to score even less. We're hustling,we're running and that's exactly what we did today. You're going to see more of this in the next games."
--Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
NIGHTLY NOTABLE:Bismak Biyombo looked as mature as possible on the court. He stepped into the court in the last crucial minutes, and he surely delivered, with crucial baskets and blocks. He formed along with McGee an impervious obstacle for the opposition.
vig32 wrote:Good win in that second game, I like you getting Javale McGee he is a freak athletically. I also thought Biyombo was in his second year, but I'm not sure really. I like using him a lot though, he is a beast defensively!
vig32 wrote:In one game I had on my association (also with the Bobcats) Biyombo had a block that I swear was a volleyball spike into the ground, it was the sweetest block i've seen on the game so far. I really love the picture for your association, I'm a big Uconn fan so seeing Kemba and Ben Gordon was nice. Two guards that helped lead us to national championships
