Anthony Davis shouldn't shoot much as he only took 8 shots in 32 MPG last season. That being said, his ratings and tendencies will be updated during the season as they are just a guess right now. There is no NBA data to go off of for him.

For Dirk and Aldridge, I'm not sure. Dirk just put 30 on me and I usually see Aldridge go for around 20, give or take. They are among the highest in Touches Tendency on their teams so they are going to get plays called for them frequently. Do you see the CPU running plays or is it more freelance? Are you usually seeing one player take 20+ shots per game?

Yeah, Dirk and Mayo ripped me apart last game vs. Dallas using your rosters. It's really good stuff.

I'm having a lot of fun w/ these. Had one sequence in the last game, Grizzlies vs Nets that was eery .

Gerald Wallace gets the ball 3 feet behind the arc due to stifling defense, has to launch the shot to beat the clock, bricks. We get the rebound, push it up the floor before the defense can get set up, I find Marc Gasol filling the lane perfectly, toss the pass into him at the foul line, as he's going up, he gets stripped. The ball is headed back the other way, Joe Johnson passes to Deron, Deron dribbles into the defense, causing them to collapse, forgetting about Joe J, who Deron instinctively hits w/ the perfectly timed bounce pass for the easy jam.

Captured it all on video. Loving it man.

I don't think they are running plays. I tried to play again with the maverics, dirk is not really shooting much

Do you have your playcalling set to Auto or Manual? I know you're not talking about your team not running plays but sometimes I think the CPU playcalling mirrors what the HUM team does. In other words, I think if you're team is set to Manual playcalling, the CPU is also.

If you're already on Auto Playcalling, switch sides, go into Coaching Settings, and make sure the CPU team is set to Auto.

What sliders are you using wtfferrel? :o

Re: Slimm44's 2k13 Roster for PC

Wed Oct 24, 2012 11:34 am

I'm actually using Cheat Tool. I go into sliders, set it to Pro Simulation. Use Cheat tool to change "Simulation" to "Default" while keeping all other Simulation sliders locked.

I'm telling you, Default plays a better game than "Simulation". And if it goes to "Custom", it plays totally different. Sounds crazy, but true.

I had a game earlier today w/ these rosters, Pacers/Lakers, Gasol and Dwight KILLED me. I kept it close the first half, the second half they ran away with it, outscoring me 27-12 in the 3rd quarter. I cut it to 7 in the fourth, but that was as close as I came.

Okay, but you must do something else, otherwise Jeremy Evans with his 129 Offensive rating would have a 95 OFFawr rating.

And you have Enes Kanter at a 25 off awr, which blows my mind. How'd you get that?

105 offensive rating =/= 25 off awr according to your scale

Kanter is going to be beast this year! I take it you're a Jazz fan? I wish they'd trade Jefferson to free up more time for the young bigs.

Re: Jeremy Evans - What I've done for most teams (if not all) is averaged a players last 3 years in each rating. I can't promise I've done this for EVERY rating but it's pretty close. For him, in 10 minutes per game, he has a very high Offensive Rating. For players with a very small sample size of minutes, I generally subtract 10 points from both Awareness Ratings. For him, it would still leave an Offensive Awareness Rating of 85. Let's break that down and talk about how it, along with his other ratings and tendencies, would play out in the sim-engine and gameplay AI.

Per 36 Minutes, he takes 8 shots per game, easily the lowest on the Jazz and among the lowest in the league. This means he isn't going to take many shots in Simulations. For my Touches Tendency (FGAper36+FTAper36+TOper36+ASTper36), he has 16, among the bottom 25% in the league. This means he will RARELY have any plays called for him in-game. This leaves Freelance Tendencies, of which he only has a primary Tendency of Give and Go and a Secondary of Post.

In the post, he has an Offensive Low Post Rating of 45, meaning he isn't going to be able to get around or score on many players. IRL, he scores 70% of the few points he scores on Cuts, Offensive Putbacks and in Transition. The way I have his tendencies set, these are the only ways he's going to score, also.

In terms of ratings, he has an inside rating of 95, a Close Rating of 68 and a Mid Rating of 50. The only place he is scoring is at the basket, just like in real life. He has low ball-handling ratings, a 45 Shoot in Traffic Rating, a 45 Shoot off the Dribble rating, mediocre (at best) Rebounding Ratings, and pretty good Dunk/Vertical Ratings. He also has decent Speed and Quickness Ratings for a big man.

He has a high Offensive Awareness Rating largely because he only takes shots at the rim, with 70% of his shots coming there. I have him at 67 Inside Shot, 21 Close Shot and 10 Mid Range Tendencies. He has an EFG% of 66 because of this and doesn't turn the ball over much at around 10%. Basically, what I'm saying is that he has a high OA Rating because he doesn't do much on the basketball court besides take shots at the basket. It's not that he's an incredibly intelligent player but that he plays the role he's asked to on the Jazz in a very efficient way.

If you try doing anything besides that with him in my roster, it's not going to look like he has a 85-95 Offensive Awareness Rating. He's going to look like Jeremy Evans, an athletic big man who can dunk pretty well and score around the bucket. That's about it.

Enes Kanter should have a 55 in Offensive Awareness. That must've been a typo.

I agree completely with the way you are doing things. It makes the game play much better. I did a CPU game of Jazz vs Lakers, and Kobe still scored 29 points, yet he wasn't a monster on defense, as it should be.

What I am seeing though is that there are inconsistencies. Jeremy Evans has an Off Awr rating of 55 in the roster currently. Maybe it is another typo, I don't know. How fast did you go through the ratings? You might want to go through them again before you get to final release ;)

Overall great roster. Tons better than all the other guess-ratings rosters on here.

Also, have you considered setting up a linear scale for the awareness ratings rather than just jumping 10 every few points? Should be pretty easy to set up in OO or Excel.

Thank you for the compliments. Yes, I'm going to comb through the roster and make sure it's right before I release any versions of the Final Build. Thanks to REDitor last year and Leftos' Editing Program this year, I have been able to establish a rough draft copy this quickly. Last year, I didn't get that far until after Christmas. I am fine-tuning the subjective Tendencies and Signature Skills now. Once that's done, I'm going to go back through the OFF/DEF Awareness Ratings and make sure they are right. Once that's done, I'll update any necessary Ratings/Tendencies that change dramatically during the first half of the season. I will also implement Vannwolfhawk's playbook edits, as they are phenomenal.

I plan on releasing an Opening Day Roster (shortly after the season starts), a Trade Deadline Roster and a Playoff Roster.

Executive Director of Basketball Operations == GM

Lindsey just does all the dirty work KOC doesn't want to do.

Kinda defeats the purpose of the entire roster project does it not? To recreate players as accurately as possible given the current engine?

Can always just dl the cyberfaces and etc and then add created players and assign them a face and etc via the roster editor or the turbo trainer.
