CMP: "Nas" Mod - Removing All the Fancy Crap from the Menus

NOTICE - I will NOT be doing this mod. I'm just providing the know-how on how to do it.

You will need the NBA2KX Mod Tool (2K12 Supported)

You need to extract any menu thingy that looks bright, spiraly or w/e and delete it. Basically load it up in GIMP or Photoshop, press delete or use the eraser tool to remove all of the texture, then resave the dds file as a DXT1 or DXT5 compression, usually without mipmaps since this is menu stuff.

You need to edit the following files, at the very least

For Global.iff, in the mod tool, you need to look at the subfiles in the 297 part of the file.

Er... LIke a concept one? Because this mod isn't done yet, it's a project for the taking by anybody interested. Jao has provided the information, anybody who'd like to work on it is free to do so.

I've checked the other files but i haven't found any "gold things". Menu are fine except for the black stuff behind the pop up with the music

may i point out that the music in this game is annoying as well. so if anyone could change that...

for that the best bet is to mute the in-game soundtrack and have a media player in the background.

Man.. How could you say that? So many great picks honestly this year with the exception of Coldplay's song... Not hating on Coldplay since I actually like that song, but that song has no business being in a basketball game IMHO. Doesn't fit one bit at all. Anyways, I thought the rest of his picks were SOLID. My favorite tracklist from 2k has gotta be maybe 2k7 though, bomb ass tracks on that soundtrack too. I mean, The World is Yours is on this year's track list, you can't HATE it ever. Ever. EVER.

Different people have different taste in music. I wish they didn't just put Hip Hop but some other stuff as well. Maybe TNT or ESPN music would've been better

just changed all fancy stuff on black blank dds (took me almost 2 minutes), i think if we work deeper it can turn in nice mode

which texture/file/# was it?

can tell you only numbers in 3dm
0125DF90, 012E1C50, 01321C50, 0155CE50, 0156CE50, 01574E50
and some more, cause, some textures' resolution was the same and i just uploaded one i have 'fixed', and these numbers belong to textures i downloaded on my desktop and edited manually

Agreed. The music is good, the editing of the tracks is horrible. They chopped Mobb Deep's "Shook Ones" to even below radio friendly status. At least there's no garbage like Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Gucci Maine, and Waka Flocka. So I'm thankful.
