Why does NBA 2K12 lag on my laptop?

Postby Schmyzz on Wed Sep 19, 2012 12:22 pm

I just got it for 20$ on steam because of the mods, I also have it on ps3, but I can't even play because of the choppyness. I can play BF3 on medium/high settings. on the benchmark test it runs at around 50 fps but still it gets choppy every 5 seconds.
My specs:
Intel Core i7-2617M 1.5 GHz (2.6GHz Turbo Mode, 4MB Cache)
NVIDIA GeForce GT540 1.0GB Memory
6GB DDR3 at 1333 MHz RAM

CPU is quite underpowered by default multiplyer. You could use up to 2.6 ghz mode steadily using throttlestop, try google it.
I have same gpu and i7 cpu as well on my laptop, but its 2,2-3,1 ghz by default. Nba 2k12 used to run fine on 2,0 ghz and lower value sometimes lagged.

I have quite a similar laptop (i7-2670QM 2.2to3.1Ghz, GeForce GT540M, 4GB RAM and 750GB HD) with yours and also play bf3 at medium/high settings and experience the same problem with 2k12. I would also be interested for any solution. :)
