Talk about NBA 2K12 here.

So I just got 2K12 for PC, been playing it on xbox but I have to get rid of my xbox since I am moving from the US to Europe. I am very inexperienced with PC games in general and modding. I haven't used my computer for gaming in over 5 years.
Anyways, that isn't really important, what is important is all of the amazing things I have seen you guys doing over the past year that I missed out on since I was playing on xbox. Now I can stop being jealous and enjoy the amazing work you guys are doing here (seriously, why hasn't 2K or EA hired you yet?). Oh right, back to what I wanted to ask, how do I enable/manage these mods. I looked around but didn't find a quick start guide or tutorial on how to really start. Sorry if I missed it...
I downloaded just about everything I could, including GME and KMM. I have a complete backup of my 2K folder and tried to just add the mods into GME. I thought I read in one of the readme files that I cannot copy and paste the files directly into the 2K folder anymore.

Welcome to the Dark Side
So for installing, yes you can use programs to add/remove mods and leave the game in-tact, but for most mods simply overwriting original files (backing up is smart if you dont want to reinstall if you dont like something) you should be OK.
Here is a basic FAQ on the main NBA 2K12 forum -
viewtopic.php?f=141&t=82789and here is a video tutorial showing how to put iff files and save files in appropriate folders -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xv1kWxZ-b8cLike I said, you can use the manager programs if you'd like, but since I dont, I can't help you with it. It's just a matter of replacing existing files with modified ones (or just adding new files)

If you need help with the JSGME look here.
viewtopic.php?f=143&t=84240This will allow you to install mods without overwriting any original files or creating a second installation folder.

Thanks, going through this stuff now. I had some success just copying some files, but not all. I think my copying different mods messed eachother up, I had issues with the FIBA mod, a lot of headless players.

I reinstalled and haven't had any issues running either the NBA or FIBA versions separately. Just made a copy of the folder and put the FIBA mods in the copy and run the exe in that folder, works like a charm.
